More specifically: just what the heck do loot boosts do?

Are there tiers of loot, let’s say tier 1 is clear zircons, tier 2 is star sapphires, and tier 3 is uncut diamonds. Normally a critter would have dropped something from tier 1, but a minor loot boost gives a chance of the critter dropping a tier 2 gem and a major loot boost gives them a chance to drop something from tier 3?

I don't know the specifics but I have noticed when I use major loot boosts I get more boxes.

I forget why I think this, but I've always operated under the belief that minor loot boosts increase your odds at getting things like gems, and major loot boosts increase your odds of getting boxes.

Most likely it's a set of rolls that then reference tables. I would imagine that the loot boosts are just modifiers to those rolls.

The times you get lucky with a chest that may have silvers and 2 gems is most likely like an open roll for the roll that references a gem table.

They increase drop rates.

If the area you're hunting has shitty loot though, the loot will still be shitty, just less shitty.

Use loot boosts on plane 5, SoS, or the Confluence (if you're cool with no boxes) if you want to maximize those 15 minutes.
