AS and such

Perhaps this is a strange question, but I am curious. In the "Blades cheats" thread Blades has an attack strength somewhere in the 700's. Even with elemental targetting, a 10x weapon, CoL signs (including madness) and spirit strike at lvl 100, I couldn't figure out how he'd get his attack above the low 600's. What am I missing? Shouldn't the weapons training cap hit at slightly over 200 ranks? :?:

Well 500 is generally normal at cap with COL and a 4x. Then factor in things like Wspec, Targetting, Strength, Madness, and Spirit Strike (and possible heroism and bravery).

AS is very overrated now. I have tons of different, more important skills than just having a higher AS these days.

Ah, Cmans add to attack strength. Common knowledge I somehow overlooked. Only played a pure myself so color me ignorant. Thanks for the info.

Well, theoretically, my AS with just spirit strike, strength, and madness would be 680. 700's is no problem with some other AS enhancing stuff.

I was proud of my rangers AS at 39. It got up to 400+ with cirtain modifiers.

Fel-hafter + AS of 400+ and 608 = Evarin holding his head in his lap.

Head reduced to a charred stump.

Yeah, its always nice to know you can peak an AS of 500 if you have to, even at level 50.

I'm still slightly upset that CM's still don't add to ranged AS. Right now, I am sitting on an AS of 404 hunting with +35 CoL, 5x bow, masterfully fletch ebladed arrows, camo and a pure potion. With a crossbow, I can break 500 with spirit strike, meaning 550+ with madness (which I rarely bother to use.)

What would a comparable blade-swinger's AS be at 56? Just out of curiosity.

It doesn't matter. Melee DS and ranged DS aren't the same. I played a 64 rogue archer whose AS was around 365. She could take out anyone up to about 70.

Heh, like someone else posted.. AS doesn't mean crap right now. Aurawyn can get her crossbow AS past 400 and she was level 23 at that time.
