Ive been gone from the game for about 5 or 6 years now, and just felt like trying it out again. I had a level 70 wizard before, but now I cant seem to find any good guides on stat placement. Im looking to roll a pure magic wizard, but I cant seem to remember what stats are important anymore and theres alot more skills now. Since it looks like the dice are gone from character creation now, im just looking for the ideal stats, and a basic training schedule. Thanks for any help in advance.

PS. does the jugg, or dragon bones come around anymore?

What character did you play back then?

When you first come back, you can autoconvert your character and both your skills and stats can be adjusted a few times during the first month.

Probably going to want to give your GSIV adjusted level and race for the right GI configuration.

The last Jugg was around 2001 but the Spitfire was back last year. GS now has yearly free big merchants. Dragonbones comes about occasionally.

Welcome back!

Id rather not say my character's name only becuase I think he's still around somewhere. I gave him to a friend who sold him a few months later. I was pretty well known I guess you could say. I remember being in the treehouse nearly every day. Heh, Setzier was always up there too. He still around? How about Thalior or Spike? Probably not, but they were some of the best RPers to have around.

This game has changed alot, I cant seem to find a guide that isnt way outdated! Itll be great to see whats new though, cause theres alot!

Please don't tell me that you played Mr. Autorolled wizard... because I'll have to kick your ass.

At the time you left, I was either playing Arziw or just starting Falgrin

Thalior sold, Spike died (I think), and Setzier became a GM.

No unfortunatly I was not auto-rolled. I rolled back in the AOL days(Paying 3.95 an hour!!!), there were no auto-rollers that I knew of at the time. I had horrible starting stats, but some managed to find a way around it.

No.. the wizard I thought you were at first was one that was autorolled, which back then was an option for new players. The computer selected your stats. I used to hunt with him often.

Welcome back.

Thanks for the welcome!
Now I just need some stats so I can get goin!
Someone help me out :)

BTW, what do you have to do to get old characters back? I just remembered a few level 20-ish characters I had.

Also, now that I think about it, I really dont care if I out a bought character. But my name was Yarrious, last time I checked he's still around. I had a ton of alters and basically made about 400 mil just buying and selling alters (dont know if thats much money now). So you might remember me being on the amu-net selling ALL the time :).

Now someone give me a stat set to go off of!! :)

This:

http://home.mchsi.com/~cphillips73/StatCruncher/StatCruncher.html

Along with the trainer you can get at www.tsoran.com

should provide you all you need to get started.

I suggest that you take an approach that emphasizes training points over stat growth.

and strength is important for a wizard, go figure.

my starting stats probably won't help you as I play a giant wizard

Strength (STR): 54
Constitution (CON): 21
Dexterity (DEX): 70
Agility (AGI): 83
Discipline (DIS): 73
Aura (AUR): 68
Logic (LOG): 74
Intuition (INT): 65
Wisdom (WIS): 78
Influence (INF): 74

also, I think you can tank discipline with very little negative impact on a character.

good luck

Why 10 armor ranks going for doubles (15 ranks)?

ElanthianSiren
05-01-2005, 12:00 PM
BTW -- when training lore -- make sure to get air because everything else pretty much sucks imo. Mine uses air and water, though I wish there was something really versatile and beneficial for all lores; oh well.

Also, you want to extensively train your magical skills (again IMO) because they contribute to your runestaff DS now -- that is, if you plan to use a runestaff.

Welcome back.
