When I was younger I used to have terrible skin. After years of figuring out what the problem was, it turned out the products I was using was murdering my complexion. Anyhow, after finding the right mixture of drinking water + washing regularly with something my skin could handle I got really cool skin.
Only when there is something really important, like a presentation at work or meeting some friends I haven't seen in ages, I'm bound to have a supprise pimple the morning I wake up.
It's really bad fucking luck and freaks me out. So I asked my GF what I should do and she told me it only happens when I've had a shave, and thats it's not a pimple it's an ingrowing hair.
Wtf do you do to get rid of these? I've never had one before.
Plus anyone else get these happy fun friendly pimples of joy just at the worst time?

Acne is a combination of hormones and genetics (they're finding it has little to do with what you eat as once thought). What you eat may get on your hands, so it's best not to touch your face because acne is a bacteria that feeds off of sugar.

If you are stressed out, it triggers a hormone release. In diabetics, each hypoglycemic episode (low blood sugar) also triggers a stress hormone release, thus correlation to diabetes/out of control sugars and acne. ...So the question becomes, do you stress a lot before you meet with these people? If yes, I think it's best to calm down and realize they'll either like you or not like you. If they don't like you, they suck. :D

When I was younger, I had bad skin, tried eeeeeeeeeeeeeevery-fin-thing. The best thing that worked for me was to wash my face, put honey on the zit, a bandaid on the zit, then sleep. All gone by the next morning. You have to use a special kind of honey though. For a quick swelling/redness fix, crush up 100% aspirin to a powder, add water, apply to zit. It will take away some of the redness at least. Don't touch.

I've never had an ingrown hair, but I'm very careful and use No Bumps on my skin. Obviously, if you're male, this could get a bit expensive, so I'm at a loss for the second half. Obviously, tweezering it out is going to make you all red and puffy (see aspirin bit). Oh yah, also, don't use cosmetics. I dunno if it applies, but I thought I'd throw it out there. :P
