Why does Adblock Plus not block Twitch ads? I expected it to work on Twitch. I don’t know whether this is always the case or I am particularly facing this issue. Any help will be appreciated.

It's a courtesy they offer to streamers, whose revenue depends on those ads. You can block them but you have to do it manually.

Also, use uBlock Origin. The others have mostly sold out to ad companies.

Another vote for uBlock here. Works like a champ on youtube, haven't tested on Twitch.

It does not. Twitch has been extremely aggressive combating adblockers, more so than any other site I know. There have been many huge Reddit threads on the subject and many custom solutions written by people, but in the end they all stopped working, so I gave up and just got a Nitro sub.

Oh well maybe I was wrong about it being a courtesy. I just assumed. I don't care because I don't watch Twitch enough to get bothered by it. 30 seconds of ads and I'm good for the rest of the night has been my experience.

Maybe but I wasted way more time than I should have earlier this year fighting Twitch ads out of sheer stubborness before giving up so I had to vent. They clearly have one or two full-time engineers whose sole job is fighting this, I commend their cleverness.

Thanks for replying. You are right. uBlock is a very good app for blocking ads. But, already I figure out the issue after finding this (https://digicruncher.com/adblock-is-not-working-on-twitch/) on Google today. There are several processes are mentioned to solve the issue. The issue is fixed after applying a process mentioned there, I just changed the Adblock settings from the extension.
