Getting my feet wet with sorcery again. Is the spell viable for open cast while hunting? If so, What’s the best way to train to get the most out of it.

I enjoy messing with it but its just too slow IMO right now. If the Sorc changes happen soon it should be much quicker. I think you need to 2x SA for nice focused 710

Thanks O. I think you also need like 75 rank in a lore in order to speed up the time it takes to take effect, and even then it's like 10 secs. I'm guessing there is no way to make it faster? I'm referring to an open cast, not targetted at a critter. Although, it may be the same time either way, not sure.
Ok we chatted about this in-game. First let me say RP and fun should always direct your training choices, and I applaud you for that. Also your RP, Xred appreciates it ;).
Now that being said, I’d recommend post cap doing more earth than air lore, or balanced 50 in each elemental lore.
Earth gives you automatic % to block physical attack and a chance at critical padding. At 50 ranks it’s 6%, which is nothing to sneeze at.
I’ve tested 50 ranks in each elemental lore with DC. Results were it destroys semis and magical creatures one shot. Even bandits, if memory serves, which are non magical, die like 50% of the time to a single cast.
Xred will go for 50 in each for the Uber DC

710 is actually pretty good once you have the Lore, but will be much better after the review. Not only will the review speed it up for everyone, you'll be able to use 710 with 706 (new spell) to force it to hit every 1 second.
In swarms, especially OSA, 710 and open 720 work well. 710, 709, 720 can clear alot of the room.
