Playing GS at work Appreciation Post

Don't you just love when a major power failure resets the government's massive firewall, allowing you to play GS? I know I do.

Because of the work firewall I VPN to my computer at home and play through the cable connection. Though I've now stopped playing GS and started playing WoW at work.

Only downside being that because I'm VPNing - I can't receive any work E-mails or access network drives. I've learned to hover my mouse over the VPN disconnect button if anyone comes close.

I use to play at work all the time until I switched to a job that doesn't have me at a desk all day. In hindsight it wasn't good because my work really slouched off because all I did was play GS LOL. I was lucky I worked in a small branch a few hours away from HQ so I didn't have any bosses close.

i'm an avid fan of GSing at work. given that i work for an isp, i have plenty of time to do it. however, the random occurance of the other 2 people here not being in the office, and me knowing that 1 of them, my boss, isnt going to come in at all, i'll run into the unused part of the office, spread out and sleep. its the best ever

The only thing that sucks about playing at work is when you're on a hunt and your boss comes over to your desk to chat awhile and you end up getting pwnorized by a critter and can't do a fucking thing about it. Taught me a lesson or two.

I set up all the colors/fonts in the Wizard FE to match those of our mainframe system here. Now if anyone walks up and gets a glance, they simply think it's the mainframe.

I script hunt (while watching) so I can alt-tab if a boss comes in.

As to getting around web blocking software, I simply use a website hosted proxy. If anyone wants, I can send them the PHP proxy software I use too.

Websense, is what we have here too.

Most publicly available Proxy's are blocked by websense, so you'll have to install this software on some free web host that supports PHP.
