Hoping it will hold my interest long enough until Classic Fresh is released. If Blackrock Mountain wasn't the best designed set of dungeons in the history of mankind, I could put WoW behind me.

I played the Alpha a bit last year. It has improvedd a lot in the very early game. Graphics look way better, even though that is likely due to me being on a way better PC.

Played a little this morning.. surprised how smooth the server was running.

Now I'm in a 1283 queue that has gone down 21 people in 30 minutes... so it's unlikely I'll be playing tonight

Yea, our group didn't want to be on a dead server so we went for what we thought would be a high population server.

Now they have said they will allow transfers.. but who knows if you will be allowed to go from low pop server to a full server. I doubt it.. they will probably do the same thing WoW did.

They said they just opened up 28 additional "worlds" in the US-East region.. but that won't help the server we're on.. I just popped on to check the queue.. I'm at 1865.. but it's not even moving at all.
We already paid the 100K gold for a town, so we're on definitely staying on this server.

I was wondering this. I watched a couple of streamers on Twitch and it certainly looks interesting, but I'm wondering if the hype is going go be short lived and we'll see mostly dead servers in a couple of months. Only time will tell I suppose.

I think I may try it out one of these days, but I'm really having a lot of fun with WoW TBC classic. That expansion pack the original time around was easily the most fun I've ever had gaming and I was worried when I started playing again that it was mostly just nostalgia that drew me back, but I'm actually having a lot of fun playing again.

I really liked Karazhan back in the day, never liked the zones in BC though.

I'm looking forward to learning more about Classic fresh. There's been talk that they are adding new areas and dungeons. It's long been rumored that there was supposed to be another 40 man raid behind Bael'Gar as well.

There's a video about the guy that designed blackrock mountain somewhere on YouTube. He's like this freak genius that nobody has been able to come close to duplicating what he did with that area.

I got home from work, downloaded the game which took <1hr. Logged in and have been able to play with minimal lag despite the place absolutely crawling with players. I'm pretty surprised everything is running so smoothly on launch day! So, that's good.

It's too early to tell as I am only a few minutes in, but the sword/shield gameplay feels pretty good. The heavy attack is a lunge, light attack is a 3-part chain attack, and you can unlock a shield charge CC for your first special, giving you two short range engage skills that play pretty nicely with the baseline dodge and block. The attacks are entirely aimed with no tab-target or tracking that I can tell. Movement feels a bit clunky as most of the attack animations lock you in. This has the potential positive of punishing panic spamming (i.e. you end up viciously attacking thin air off to the left of your target while it bites you in your ass!), but first impression I prefer the faster, more fluid feel of a game like GW2 or BnS.

The character models look like trash, but the game environment looks okay. There appears to be very little in the way of initial customization compared to most other MMOs. You can choose to play only humans as a race. Hopefully they have a good dye and wardrobe system, but I haven't even looked into it yet. Right now everyone looks like a pirate or Tom Hanks from "Cast Away".

There are a million questions to answer right now, so I will just have to figure it all out as I go! So far, it's playable which is kinda more than I expected on the first day. And I am not giving the combat an "F" right off the bat like FFXIV! It could be a worse start.

Was enjoying the rapier, with the flurry getting some major hits in. It oddly scales with intelligence, and magic right now is very unbalanced on the weak end. Will gave to try it tonight.

Also I am sad hatchet was nerfed, I miss my two hatchets.

All in all, I don't really foresee NW lasting terribly long. The game at high levels gets a bit boring to me..The PvP isn't amazing by any means, as I've had better World PvP from other games, and I was just never a fan of the limiting feeling I get when using any of the weapons.

Not sure if it was since they only allow 3 skills, or that everyone and their mother ends up using at least a Life staff or ice gauntlet as their secondary since all you'll see is AoE heals, or AoE ice storms/pylons in combination with the few other weapons most tend to use.

I didn't plan on buying it for a few reasons, and really have no interest enough to buy it as it stands now. If in the future they support development for it quick enough, add some good new weapons and such then possibly. But right now in it's current state, it was never a buy from me.

US East Morrow is a full server.. but the latency is amazing.

I just started on a new server today. They added a bunch of new US East server. No queue. Pop seems about right on it. I never cared for crowded shit in the first place.

Me either... I would rather have no queue than a full server... but later on after the shiny wears off the game, people will leave.. and it will be the full servers that will most likely survive the future contraction of players. I certainly don't want to play on a dead server.

They're instituting a free migration to address roll out congestion. I don't think it'll be a problem. Honestly though, this game plays a lot like Dark Souls and is a blast.

I hope they end up creating tons of end game instances like WoW did.. which will keep people in the game much longer.

I'm with you though, I'm having a blast with this game.

I wonder the same and honestly if they do it the way Blizzard did and only allowed certain servers to migrate to specific others they'll run into issues. I don't know if that'll be required as you can change factions every four months and there's an underdog mechanic for those not dominating faction wise.

End game raids, more weapon types and a lowering of the weapon swap lag. I think my favorite part has been the crafting system, as it's both exciting to see the results animation, but you can do multiple projects at once and see the variety it creates. Whoever came up with adding optional components to nudge results towards higher chances of specific stats was a genius.

Was that during beta? Because I don't think the in game mic has been working since the game released.

Also, that seems a bit extreme.. 2 weeks for using a great song to do a great deed.

I have a feeling that Amazon won't put it with anything and will ban people for the slightest perceived infraction.
