Life for the cash farming companies is going to get interesting.

It was bound to happen. Not surprised at all. In fact, surprised it took the corporations this long to figure out there was a huge revenue they were missing out on.

I'm surprised Simu hasn't figured out that they could charge $10-20 per alter, padder, whatever and used that.

That's surprised me too honestly. Other muds have been doing this for quite some time. Imperian comes to mind.

Sony is going to set up servers designed to facilitate the buying/selling of in-game items and currency. Of which Sony will get a small fee as a service charge.

Yeah, Sony will basically act like Ebay does. Keep people honest and scrape a lil off the top.

Uh... simu DOES do it. You pay.. you go to their merchant event such as the wavedancer.. and you get your alters and buy your items.

HAHAH I love the cartoon descriptions on the bottom of top link. What a joke.. like infomercials saying "Tired of your knife being unable to cut a tomato??" and then shows someone with a butterknife smashing a tomato.. they make it look like the online auction of items is complete garbage.

Its a smart move. Simu should take it a step further and freaking sell item/feature alterations and custom verbs.
