View Full Version : What would you do if Simutronics shut down?

I played for a couple of years, but not for a long time now. I was thinking about how much time I put into it, and other games, and how I was just a noob compared to some.

So if Simu were to shut down today, what would you do with yourselves? Seriously.

Pretty much what I do now. I play when I've got time, if it shut down I'd pick up another hobby.

Wait for D&D online.

I'd probably float around till I found some environment about the same or just read more books.

10. Make a list of SIMU systems I found valuable.

09. Impliment said systems in any future gaming projects.

08. Trade stocks without distraction.

07. Get Master's Degree (will do that anyway).

06. Save a bit of money a month.

05. Read more

04. Write More

03. Walk nine miles a day instead of seven.

02. Bullshit with people in IMs a WHOLE LOT more.

01. Plan something neat with the entertainment money I saved from SIMU, maybe train travel the entire U.S.

I'd go cruising over to St. Louis in my cool (and by cool, I mean TOTALLY SWEET) Mazda RX-7 and roll up to Dave Whatley's house, fuck my girlfriend in his driveway on the hood of my cool (and by cool, I mean TOTALLY SWEET) Mazda RX-7. Then I'd kick his door in and watch him cry at my awesomeness and charge him $20 for my autograph. Then I'd pistol whip him, take his wallet even though I don't actually need his money cause I'm big time Hollywood, get back in my cool (and by cool, I mean TOTALLY SWEET) Mazda RX-7 and ride into the hood and do some drive by's cause I'm THUG 4 LIFE!

Run/work out more

Sleep more

Spend about a hundred dollars a month on books

Play more random console games

Be more depressed all the time

Be pissed off for years to come about GS shutting down.

Start a few more projects around the house.

Miss the friends I have made in the game.

Get on with life.

Same as I've been doing lately... except minus the Mentor work, because that's all I seem to do in GS anymore.

Say "I told you so," then advise everyone on PsiNet to join UL.

And on that note,

See if PsiNet still worked.

You may connect to PsiNet while playing Unwritten Legends.

(Or even while logged out, once authenticated.)

I'd mourn the lost hours of my life then get over it. It's gonna happen eventually, just like everything. I have to admit though, I'd put way more hours of study time into my Mastes degree and I'd probably be fatter because I'd eat more when bored rather than play GS! Hehe

I would have little cyber funerals for all my characters...and a celebration for the Luukosian ones because thats what they would have wanted.

j/k

Honestly I'd probably get alot more work done.

Honestly, who believes Gemstone will go down for good in the next 3 years? In the next 5?

I personally don't think it is going anywhere any time soon.

It might, it might not...hard to tell without being able to look at information we can't get.

It's been going for longer than half of my lifetime, no reason to really expect it to go down anytime soon. Although I think I would probably get a nice chuckle out of it.

But in reality, I don't see Simu shutting down at all.

Like someone else said GS is a hobby that I play in my spare time or while I'm doing other things. I would just have to find another hobby or something else thats fill my spare time.

I would call up Arkans and say OMG DID YOU HEAR? and when he said no i'd just start crying and become inconsolable. I dont think that's even how you spell that word but I am too upset at the thought that I can't even be bothered to look it up. He wouldnt even be able to get what happened out of me i'd be crying so hard. Then I'd probably spend the next few weeks trying to sign in and crying again when i couldnt. And I'd call simutronics daily to tell them that their webpage is down and refuse to believe them when they told me what I was denying.

LOL. I like that idea.

I'd just find another game to play. (to fill my gaming void... already playing another one more than GS now anyway and it's free) There will always be online games. Would hate to lose the time and items I have but oh well... life goes on.

Yeah, THAT.

After being pissed about not selling my characters, I'd probably use my saved money to buy an oxygen/asedaline (howthefuckdoyouspellthat) set-up and a mig welder and get more involved in creating sculpture pieces.

Oh, and I'd start playing WoW again. :D

Actually... since I firmly believe if Simu continues to pursue the HJ primrose path that they are going to cease to exist, leaving the game on my terms before it left me was part of my decision to cancel the accounts.

You should just believe that Simu went under, skip step #1 and go straight to #2.

You are welcome.

I'd need a computer with a graphics card able to run T&L.
Not a packard bell laptop with 64 mb shared graphics memory. (intel, gag)

Packard Bell LOL. Dude why not play on a TI-86 graphing calculator? It would be faster.

Intel Pentium M 710 1.4 GHz processor

400 MHz FSB

2 Mb cache

256 Mb RAM

40 Gb Hard Drive

DVD-ROM & CD-RW Drive

15" TFT display

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

64 Mb Intel 855GM graphics

Pity me.
I'll seriously have to buy a new comp to get into WoW. But it's on the cards anyhow.
