From October through December 2020, daily deaths increased from 700 to 2,500 for a total of 132,000 deaths.
We are already at 1,000 daily deaths.
This number will increase to 1,600 in early September, for a total of 24,000 deaths from now until then.
If the number plateaus there before starting the fall and winter surges, there will be 42,000 deaths in the rest of September.
Deaths will then rise to 5,000 by the end of December, with 373,000 deaths from October through December 2021.
John Hopkins reports that 628,000 Americans have already died of coronavirus.
This means we will have lost over 1,000,000 Americans by the end of 2021.
And the death rate will be increasing at that time.

And we know exactly what we have to do to prevent this fate.
We had the tools we needed from the start, and now the job is even easier with vaccines.
We know most people will use them voluntarily or if asked somewhat nicely.
And we know that isn't enough.
As I've said from the start, we know how this is going to end.
We know the government is going to take severe intrusive action, whether in the form of mandates, lockdowns, or both.
We went through this in the 2020 spring surge, the 2020 summer surge, and the 2020 combined fall/winter surges.
All that's left to decide is whether we exhort the government to take action now, right now, when the death toll will merely be the worst pandemic in US history, or whether we only do so long after we should have.
