They got 2 gms on you and he says it cost them too much (compaired to 60 bucks per month you're giving them)

He is lying, gms aren't payed more than 29,95 bucks per month.

I've never known Khaladon to be anything but fair and reasonable.

Keep it up, and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Yep, he's a good guy. Sorry Spir but you just can't let things go. You're still on PSInet right now spouting off about him and he's probably outside cutting his grass and you are the furthest thing from his mind.

You need to let go or find another hobby. Seriously.

Khaladon has always been fair, in my opinion. Furthermore, he's a lot more patient than I would be in his position. If he says you're causing enough disruption be become a problem for staff and Simu, then you're doing something wrong.

If you can't play by the rules, there are other games that don't have those rules. I'm sure you could find something that would suit your playing style. You'd have more fun and the GMs would have one less headache.

Sylph

Well... the only INGAME ive seen between Khaladon and Spir was Spir showing off his sexuality and Khaladon having him hung.

Other than that... Ive never seen Khaladon to be anything but fair... so... eh.

Its tough... I think Khal hates Spir and Spir hates Khal and they antagonize each other. Only one person can laugh last though... and it'll be Khal apparently.

I don't know Spir or his situation, and I think Khaladon is a good GM, but I can't help but notice things like this during a lot of Consultation Lounge logs:

You say, "I'm asking if you checked to see that I issued the proper warning before starting my roleplaying with Xili."

[Minion Quarters]

If Spir actually did warn the guy first like he claimed to, then I think it was wrong of Khaladon to completely ignore that fact.

I might be wrong, but I always thought that giving people fair warning that you're about to attack them if they don't lay off is considered playing by the rules as far as I know.

At the same time, it's probably not a stretch to say that Spir has probably called wolf too many times, and the GMs just got tired of it.

To summarize, this post is pretty pointless.

basically, if you're a constant breaker of 'policy' or are a 'troublemaker', the GMS will be less then happy to take your side, even if the offending parties are doing the same.

Actually, that's true almost anywhere you go, whether it be a game, a message board, school, or the workplace. You reap the results of your actions.

There are games where the rules are a great deal less stringent. Seems to me they'd be a lot more fun for someone like Spir.

Exactly. Just scroll through some of Spir's other threads on this board. All the same shit. He's always the victim.

Let's hope he's really on his way out.

I heartily agree, Yswithe. Yet, I always try to give any player the benefit of the doubt. However, if the joy they find in the game is disrupting other peoples' enjoyment, may they be gone with the greatest of haste. :D

You're an expert of games now?

Who are you to say that the games that got less rules would be more fun to someone like him?

The fun of a game with a lot of rules is that, breaking it and continuing.

I bet spir will do so until he is PERMA-BANNED.

And since he's somewhat smart (at minimum) he'll sell most of his characters before it happens.

A win-win situation.

I agree

in the end, it's a drop in the bucket. and if the cost/benefit analisys that Simu/Gemstone has for high-maintenance users shows it to be disproportionate, then GS wins.

This will remain a mystery. Spir can essentially say whatever he wants and there will be no way to refute it. Khaladon won't be coming around to tell his side, so Spir could basically say immediately if he is going for some sympathy. (Not sure who would possibly give him any at this juncture.)

I know Khaladon is an upstanding guy, who actually cares about the players - so I imagine that there was more going on that we'll never quite know.

I know that someone heard Spir on OOC saying that he was trying to get a hold of Khaladon's phone number... kidding or not, that's just over the top.

Is Khaladon the cookie GM, I seem to remember something about a GM and cookies. He has always seemed like a fun GM he came once to talk to someone I was with and he poofed in my character shrieked and cowered from him, he did some funny "get you" thing in game and I thought that was original and funny he could have just ignored it but he played along.

Kitsun
04-17-2005, 09:57 PM
Yeah, Khaladon is the cookie man.

04-17-2005, 10:01 PM
He arrested me in Solhaven a few years back and charged me a beautification tax because Edine was claiming to be the most beautiful being in Elanthia...

He then put up signs around town that I was wanted after I "broke" out of prison... In the end my head got chopped off and rolled down the street.

I've had quite a few interactions with GM's and more than one with Khaladon, his always leave me warm and fuzzy about GS. It's a pity he went over to plat and spends most of his time there.

Blueland died at the hands of his black ora weapon on the WD and we were dragging him to see the NPC cleric. Before you know it we heard a passenger call out..."Death sure is a drag isn't it, Blueland?" We were dying laughing, and then some deckhand came by and swabbed up the smelly remnants of Blueland (I'll leave it to your imagination..) - since it was Khal's black ora weapon - I'm sure it was him sending the emits - was really hilarious.

Khaladon rocks. He tarred and feathered Jaken one night in Illistim for making smart ass comments... was hillarious.

There were two comments that Khaladon made that I would take to heart if I were you...

1. Khaladon asks, "Are you familiar with the term High Maintenance Customer?"

2. Khaladon says, "No one gets reported more than you mi'amigo."

well, and a third...

3. Khaladon says, "You don't roleplay, you run scripts."

And, it was really stupid to echo your consultation onto the PSINET. Thats like making gestures behind your bosses back and him being able to see your shadow while you're doing it...

Perhaps you could just move over and play WoW, there's lots of folks who would welcome you there... [/sarcasm]

Same here, I have a Comp Sci degree. I write code... its only natural. Khaladon was very nice about it. Only on utility characters of course. Spir just didn't get RP.

Getting banned by Khaladon is hard too. Do you report everytime someone says something to you? Everytime you have a little skirmish? Grow some nuts or start a new game.

If you boiught the character don't you buy the characters history?

I would think you would ask the seller if the planned purchase has any enemies and such.

I mean, at least put a facade on an in game resolution of the past conflict or something?

Reading between the lines:

If enough people report and assist about you that it begins to irritate the GMs, it doesn't matter if you were right or wrong or fair.

That's hardly a judgement, either-- I think Khaladon is very fair and he has always been quite decent to me about PsiNet.

But it's just silly to expect that a person won't say, "Well if everybody complains about you, you must be doing something wrong!"

Right on, Jamus. I always thought it would take an act of Congress, or the incitement of world war, to get banned by Khaladon. He's one of the most understanding, and lenient, GMs Simu has. He's got a great sense of humor and the patience of a saint.

In short, if Khaladon bans you, look to yourself. You've created your own mess and there's nobody else to blame.

He afk scripts, he engages in PvP, he is retarded...

Spir is the poster child of what's wrong with GS... but if he actually did get banned and it was overturned.. THAT IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH GS. They cater to the short term dollar and forget about the long term dollar.
