an intricate silver lor case/an elegant silver lor platter

Case:
Half oval panels of dark silver lor comprise the whole of this case, its surfaces burned with elaborate designs then lacquered over for protection. Smoothly rounded pieces of faenor hug the corners and along the seams, while an intricate clasp hooks into itself to keep the case closed. A swirling inlay of looping silver letters is set into the lid, its script painstakingly placed against the wood.

Platter:
A thinly lacquered oval of lor creates the base of this elegant platter, its edges gilded in faenor to match the inlay across the flat of it. Delicate tea leaves ring the outer edge, each leaf made from swirled faenor to overlap the next in a tumbling pattern. Twin handles of twisted faenor rest at each apex of the oval, a looping script swirling across the very center, end to end.

"Truth in Telling"

On the silver lor platter you see a stack of forks, a stack of spoons, a stack of knives, a silver-swirled dark alabaster teapot with a faenor handle, a stack of teacups, a stack of plates, a stack of saucers, a stack of bowls and a stack of goblets.

Flatware: Formed from delicate sterling silver, the [piece] is small and etched at the base with a single tea leaf. Swirled green faenor serves as the handle, a cap of silver holding the carved piece of metal in place. [shallow spoon, tri-tined fork, slightly dull knife]

Teacup : Fashioned from delicate pale alabaster with a clear glaze, the teacup is shaped like a blooming lotus with curled petals. The handle is crafted from a curved piece of faenor, the ends turned up then gilded with a touch of gold for depth. Set along the lip of the cup is more faenor, rounding the edge of it out to finish the piece.

Opening:
You unlatch the toggle on your silver lor case and hear a strange whirring sound, causing you to remove your hand from the toggle. Within seconds, a tiny opening appears at the top of the case and the thin doors are drawn away from each other. The doors at the hinges bend and slide into a small compartment at the bottom, turning the case into an elegant silver lor platter.

Closing:
You depress a button hidden in the design of the silver lor platter's handle. A small whirring sound heralds tiny doors extending from the bottom of the platter, which extend upward until they completely obscure the contents of the platter and transform the piece into an intricate silver lor case.
