PSM3 will probably drop tonight late evening on June 6th according to Discord.

Personally, I don't want to sound too negative but I think this will be the biggest shitshow in the history of shitshows.

Some aspects for concern:

- Naijin is way to non-chalant about everything. I don't think he's taking things seriously.

- I think Naijin's focus is primarily Warriors although I hoped it would be all squares.

- It's way out of whack in terms of balance and they are asking players (who are obviously biased as fuck to "test" it all for them).

- It's going to end Pures. Naijin has been pretty coy as to what creatures will be getting the new PSM3 but deciphering his double-speak I think most capped and definitely all post-cap creatures will get the full suite of abilities.

- I think they'll scuttle the release altogether or release it in pieces. The backlash after a few months testing will be pretty evident.

Getting hit with an ability that results in the DAZED affect as a spell caster reminds me of the good old days when you weren't quite to level to casting a spell and still had a small soft RT for prepping a spell.

Dazed, from what it appears, applies a 3 second spell prep time for casting spells until the DAZED debuff wears off. So for a good 20-30 seconds if you cast spells, you're pretty much screwed. Just run.

STAGGERED - I'm not sure what this does. Notes from the PSM3 says "You are staggered and unable to act. Roundtime added through Stagger does not stack, but can refresh."
I don't know what it means by "unable to act". I can still cast spells or attack while the STAGGERED roundtime ticks down.....does anyone know what this debuff does?

SLOWED - self explanatory. Adds RT to your actions.

VULNERABLE - increases chance you get hit in a "vulnerable" location over limbs on the next unaimed attacked. I felt like attacks were more likely hitting my ab/chest/back while VULNERABLE debuff was active.

dazed already existed, just most people didn't deal with it. you could get the "dazed" affect now from UCS attacks to your head/neck (not silence, which ucs attacks can also cause), just most people have not ever been hit with a UCS attack since no creatures do it. You can also get "dazed" if you're hit with powersink (sentinels in SoS cast this.). Yes, it is awful.

staggered is supposed to be RT that can refresh but not stack. If it is not actually preventing you taking actions, that definitely sounds like a bug.
"Staggered is just a unified way to apply RT. It's currently coded to stack up to the RT you would have gotten.
e.g., if you're in 8 seconds of RT and a tackle applies 20, you go up to 20 not 28. If you're in 8 seconds and it was a tackle flop for 4 seconds, you don't get any RT."

vulnerable works like: the normal random location hit check is performed (which is complicated, takes into account attacker/target height differences and several other things apparently). the check is performed UP TO 10 times, as soon as a "fatal" location is selected, which in this case just means not limbs (so all torso, neck, head, eyes), the checks cease and that is where the attack resolves. if you somehow defy all odds and get to the 10th check and never get any of those body parts, which is incredibly unlikely, you hit whatever was selected on the 10th check. So getting a back/abdomen is only very minimally "fatal" (need a rank 8 or 9 for melee weapon types) it's at least possible. I wonder if this might be someplace they could further improve in ascension (improved chance to hit head/neck/eyes instead of just torso)

If staggered is supposed to be RT that supposed to prevent you from doing any actions, that's fucking worse than the normal RT a skill - such as charge - would impart upon my wizard.

I had my warrior do some charges on the test server on my wizard, even crummy low endrolls would give my wizard 20-30 seconds of staggered. That means he would (if stagger works as you suggest, unable to take any actions) just lay there on the ground like a lump of shit, even though the 2 round stun had ended. Here's an example:

Warrior rushes forward at you with his halberd and attempts a charge!
[SMR result: 185 (Open d100: 123)]
Your size considerably hinders your defense!
Warrior lunges at you with a terrific charge!
... 15 points of damage!
Large gash to your left arm, several muscles torn.
You are stunned for 1 round!
The energy surrounding you condenses into hard stone, softening the blow!
... 30 points of damage!
Strike to arm spins you like a top. You is stunned.
You are knocked to the ground!
You are struck by an acute sense of vulnerability.
Roundtime: 8 sec.
Roundtime changed to 4 seconds.

Haha. It says "You is stunned."

After the stun wore off I checked the active spells:

>spell ac
You currently have the following active spells:

You can see he has 24 seconds of STAGGERED on him, but he was able to stand up and do whatever he wants before the STAGGERED time is done.

Here's another example that had a pathetic endroll, but still resulted in 25 seconds of STAGGER:

Warrior rushes forward at you with his halberd and attempts a charge!
[SMR result: 106 (Open d100: 45)]
Your size considerably hinders your defense!
Warrior lunges at you with a weak charge!
... 5 points of damage!
Quick slash to your upper left arm!
Just a nick.
... 15 points of damage!
Elbow wrenched.
You are stunned for 1 round!
>jump
>
You leap high into the air and come crashing back down to the ground with both feet firmly planted. A large cloud of ash billows around you!
>roll
You can't roll around if you're not lying down!
>lie
You lie down.
>roll
>
You roll around on the ground.
>roll
You roll around on the ground.
>roll
You roll around on the ground.
>st
You stand back up.

>prep 504
>
You intone a phrase of elemental power while raising your hands, invoking Slow...
Your spell is ready.
>cast
You gesture.
CS: +484 - TD: +352 + CvA: +3 + d100: +81 == +216
Warding failed!
Warrior suddenly slows all movements.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
(Forcing stance down to guarded)

At the end of things, you can see he was still under the effect of STAGGERED, but he was moving around and casting.

Naijin confirmed on officials that STAGGERED is supposed to work like RT.

I called him out about how awful the design is if someone get's tagged with STAGGERED and they're stuck there, doing nothing after the short stun duration ends....told him it's an awful game design.

I guess I wait to see if anyone or him even responds.

It'll just be a fucking funeral for most players if they get hit with STAGGERED and can't do anything - it's no different than stacking RT. You're just standing/laying there like a fucking moron, waiting to be killed.
