Ambush ranks

What's a good settling point for ranks in ambush (for open ambushing of course). Is it 25, 50, 1x. What are people thinking?

My general thoughts have always been none for one handers, ~24 for smaller two handers and full 1x for big polearms. It is probably possible to now get more exact numbers with the aiming formula known.

Yeah, I'm feeling like as an OHE I likely don't need more than like 25 but I don't know enough about the skill to say for sure. I'd train more if there is good reason to. Thanks Menos. Any more thoughts?

The ambush calculations are in some thread on the Wiki. It might've been Whirlin who put the diminishing returns at ambush greater than 24 ranks just not worth the training points when the gain is factored in. I train 25, because I can't stand being 1 away from that halfway to 50 mark. However, if I recall correctly, the additional ranks in ambush provide some benefit, so like Menos said, the reward is unknown.
