Just thought I'd share this in case there are any fans of the franchise (or new players!) who might be interested. GW2 Living World story episodes will be available for free starting May 25, with an episode spotlighted each week. This content is normally something you would have to purchase unless you logged in while it was live. This is part of their effort to hype their third expansion.

1 week to go! Here's a few videos of a variety of GW2 gameplay to give you an idea of what it's like:

First, an organized raid from GW2's "World vs. World" (WvW) game mode, which is a large scale PvP siege combat game. Three teams battle for control of territory and structures (i.e. keeps, towers, etc.) in week-long battles that rage across 4 maps.

However, if you're more of a lone wolf, here's a rather excellent solo roaming montage also from WvW.

Here's a PvP tournament from last year, commentated by a GW2 streamer known as "Mighty Teapot". The game mode here is called "Conquest". It's 5v5 competing for control of 3 capture points.

If you're more into PvE, GW2 has raids, dungeons, a sprawling world map, and an ongoing story with new episodes released every few months. Here's some content from what they call "fractals" (basically dungeons by another name!).

Maybe casual is more your speed? Most maps have world bosses and other large scale events that you can simply show up for. You don't need an organized group to complete this content as it's designed for everyone to just join in! Here's the legendary Death-branded Shatterer from the Jahai Bluffs map.

Here's an absolutely incredible display of skill using GW2's sublime mount system to give a fast tour of the Tangled Depths map, which also gives a glimpse at the beauty and complexity of GW2's open world map design! Have you ever seen anything like this!?

And one more just for fun! Here's a video of me playing through some of the April annual festival content known as the Super Adventure Box. Most months there is some sort of annual festival going on. This one was an April Fools joke from years ago! Love those throwback graphics and hardcore platforming puzzles!

I'm probably just talking to myself (it beats shitposting in the politics threads, right?), but the free DLC event continues with Season 4, Episode 2 of the Guild Wars 2 living story released this week for free!

Just for fun, here's a cool compilation of GW2 art set to one of my favorite songs from GW2!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfU07aMziP0

The song is "Fear not this night", composed by Jeremy Soule, lyrics by Ree Sousbe, and vocals by Asja Kadric.

And here is the official trailer for season 4, episode 2: "A bug in the system" which features an adaptation of "Fear not this night" rolled into a 007-ish trailer! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfhgtA_JAK0

And I guess if you care about that, here's the full version of that adaptation set to another really cool art trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDlxCumFalE

Lol. just looked and I still have this game installed on my computer, haven't played it in ages. Played the original Guild Wars and really enjoyed it. Did they shut that down or is it still out there. Would be interesting to log in just to take a look around, it was a good game and I had a lot of fun with it.

Now to see if I can remember my log-in info for GW2....

I don't know on GW1. I think I was playing WoW back then. It's been interesting seeing so many WoW refugees lately along with a lot of old school Guild Wars fans hyped up for the expansion.
