Quixtar?

Anyone ever heard of this company? My roommate is getting all giddy about it. He went to some convention on it. It is one of those pyramid schemes. It is an online shopping thing. You pay 150 bucks to get started and then have to sign other people up. You get money for every purchase they make at this online store. He is going crazy over it and thinks he is going to make a ton of money.

Discuss these schemes and if anyone has ever tried it.

There have been 2 threads about it in the last year. One started by myself, the other by Jenisi (I think). Anyway, you don't make money by spending money.

The way Quixtar works is you have to buy goods from them online. Through recruiting people, you get DISCOUNTS on the items you buy from them. After recruiting X number of people, you will have Y% of a discount on the shit you buy from them. There may be some form of monetary reimbursement, but I don't think there is. It really makes no sense. They went the WHOLE presentation (that I went to) without REALLY saying how the fuck you are supposed to make money doing it.
