I got a new computer in November and every time I try to burn CDs that are above like 15 or 16 tracks, the last songs get cut off and my CD player will show an error and stop playing and spit out the CD. Sometimes if I let it play the whole way through, it'll play some of the later tracks. Is this a problem with the software or the hardware? What can I do to fix it? Any suggestions?

What software are you using?

I think it's called Sonic or something?

Ah, you bought a dell.

I stopped using sonic a few hours after I got my PC.

Find a ripped copy of Nero or one of the better known burning softwares.

(I'm sure there's a way to have sonic work, but it's much easier when you use software that alot of people use/can give advice on)

You are in your first year so you should have phone support and warranty if you bought from Dell/HP/IBM/ etc. I would call the manufacturer of the computer.

I've never had a problem with using Sonic.

It's a Toshiba s609. I dont know if that helps, but I've got a 2 year warranty from the place I bought it.

So what's the general idea? Change software, see if that works ... if not, then call customer service?

Thank you. Where can I find a free copy of something like Nero?

Call Toshiba first. If this was a computer forum I would be dishing out the abuse by now.
