So I try and talk with other bards and in one conversation about our guilds I was told that when asked about implementing our Guild with training and tasks and such the answer was NO, Never.
I would like to hear from someone in "authority" to speak to this.
Thank You,
Eliseen.

I'm sure the answer is "never." It seems like a giant pain to create guilds and it seems like no one really likes going through with mastering all the ranks in a guild.
Probably wouldn't be so bad if they made the tasks a lot easier, like "Sing to 10 different items." Or "Kill 100 like level critters."
At least this would just be stuff people would do normally so they can master with time, instead of dumb tasks like "polish 10 suits of armor, oh only 3 suits of armor in this guild? Travel half way across the world to polish the other suits!"

Never. GMs have said in discord in the past year or so that there will not be anymore work done on existing guilds/skills and no new guilds will ever be made. They view the guild system as a bandaid to profession needs from GS3 and they don't fit the game anymore.

Well, that sucks. :(

This also sucks... professional guilds are awesome, even if tedious. Things like LMaster and WTricks and Alchemy, not to mention other guild skills (which, admittedly, are available at a reduced capacity, with other systems), can really be character-defining, and unless they have some other ways in the works to continuing allowing character-defining stuff like that for classes that don't already have guilds.... well, yeah, that just sucks. :(
(And, no, things like the PSM3 changes don't count, since those don't cover all the classes, and Ascension doesn't count, since it's more of an later-game system.)

The skills are cool, the guild work you do to get them is

Especially things like rock paper scissors slap hands and the nested RNG of lmaster. I'm sure replacing/reducing them has been brought up but man that is some f2p mobile game nonsense right there.

I mean you pay guild dues and for what? I guess it's one way to keep the ALL POWERFUL BARDS from getting rich too.

There's really no reason to pay dues, is there? AFAIK you get full access to the facilities regardless of membership status.

Wizard guild, the only 2 reasons to pay dues is so you can have access to the alchemy shop inside the guild and you can use the FLICK verb. Otherwise, even if you didn't pay dues you could still enter the guild to wander around and even make use of the workshop inside.

Even the Sorc guild, arguably one of the most useful guilds with the illusion skills flat out sucks. You do NOT want any Bard abilities locked behind repetitive guild tasks.
