I guess episode 3 of WV was pretty good. Episode 5 if I recall was solid. The last two or three finished pretty strong, but overall I thought it was kind of a weak first outing for Marvel on D+. I felt it was a series that would have been better served dropping all episodes at once, because it was a drag some weeks watching a 24 minute episode and wondering if the next was even worth tuning in again.

A lot of people liked it though. Individual tastes vary. In my opinion, Netflix Daredevil S1 stomped all over WV and it isn't even close. Falcon and the Winter Soldier had a solid first episode. Maybe the weekly format will work out better for it like the Mandalorian has for D+. I'm definitely interested in the next episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier more than I was for WV ep3 (they dropped 1 & 2 together, and it was still a drag in WV).

Oh for sure, Punisher S1 was awesome. I stalled in S2 due to different reasons, maybe largest being that the Netflix Marvel universe was all getting chopped by then. I'm just trying to compare initial offerings to each other from Netflix to D+ (DDs1 to WV). So far, I think FatWS is solid. WV just didn't resonate with me too much, but it was still OK by the end when things made a little more sense.

I've always been looking forward to the Loki series the most on D+. It's a bit too soon to say D+ won't have great Marvel shows, and Marvel looks to be supporting those more than they ever did with the ones on Netflix. For sure though, a couple of the DD seasons, Punisher, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage.. probably in that order for me, were awesome. D+ is just getting going, but WV was a little flat and kind of not all it was billed up to be in setting up future Marvel stories to me. I thought the acting was good, but it just fell out of my wheelhouse on exciting TV.

Agreed, Daredevil and Punisher by far best adaptations I've seen. Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal were amazing casting choices. I like that they didn't shy away from a more mature storyline in them either.

WandaVision felt like an utter failure. I really liked Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, and if they'd written the storyline differently with the focus on her training and teaching the Scarlet Witch, as opposed to the alternate reality would have been much better IMO.

Loki - I think Tom Hiddleston has the chops to carry a full series (loved him in the Night Manager), but afraid from the offerings seen from Disney so far, they're not willing to go where the storylines need them to with regards to a more mature nature.

Netflix catered to adults. Disney is catering to kids. Just their choices of who to develop seems off IMO. They have chosen some of the darkest characters to try to develop, and are trying to shove them into a kids show.

I think comics like Guardians of the Galaxy, Spiderman, Howard the Duck, etc. would be more in their wheelhouse for a series... not darker characters.

Agreed. Antman and the Wasp, a flashback series of Captain America having gone back in time. I guess the problem is that it's hard to get the uber stars who are already worn out from a decade of movies as the same character in a D+ show. Antman and the Wasp are at least closer to possible.. even with Rudd. He did that one show where his character duplicates himself. Again, partial to Loki. I think they may do well with other chars being brought in on shows.

Moonknight, a batman rip-off, but still super cool. Nova, how the hell have they left him out over the main MCU so far given the storylines? She-hulk would play well on the disney service. Hell, even the Hulk. He hasn't had a movie since the second marvel one, and that previous one some years before.. eesh. Bring the Hulk into D+ for some more one on one time with the audience..

Ohhh some great recommendations, and yea I feel bad I forgot Antman and the Wasp. Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly had good comedic chemistry.

I just looked up to see what's occurring, and you're right... seems they are looking at Moon Knight? With Ethan Hawke as the bad guy??? He's one my favorite actors, so if this actually happens I'm going to be really interested to see it. Please don't fuck it up Disney.

I'm not entirely impartial as a long-time collector. The more some of these characters get exposed to the main stream, the happier as a fan and a collector I become. I have the original Moon Knight and Rich Rider Nova first appearances (WW by Night 32 and The Man Called Nova #1). It's a double win for me when D+ branches out.

I just hope they don't try to get too artsy and kidsy with everything. Moon Knight on Netflix would have been awesome. Supposedly that char was set to originally show up in the Punisher before Netflix axed everything due to Disney's foray into streaming.

The glimmer of light for me is how awesome the Mandalorian has been. It's not exactly for kids. It's not Daredevil, Punisher, or Jessica Jones, but it isn't for the Frozen aligned youth either. I'm not going to thumbs down them after just WV, because even that was ok in spurts. If they would just bring Daredevil back.. and let that universe grow again, whether on Hulu or D+, I would be all in. Going on the assumption they don't, some better tie-ins and character introductions than Agents of Shield saw would be pretty good. You can say they did with WV, but it doesn't really feel like it yet. That's where Falcon and the Winter Soldier feels like it's upping the game so far. One episode in. Loved seeing GSP back.
