Okay, so I'm trying to design a gown after being inspired by Dextra's swan feather-adorned gown. I know there is a name for the part of the gown I'm trying to design, I just don't know what its called.

I want to make...almost like a set of elegant shoulder covers out of feathers that serves almost as straps and sleeves.

It doesn't trim the collar, it just spans over the tops of the shoulders.

Am I making any sense here?

a suchandsuch gown with pale blue peacock feathers that fan out from the shoulders?

A suchandsuch bliaut with iridescent peacock feathers that strike out erratically from the collar/neckline?

The only thing that I can think of is armor terminology like pauldrons, cusps etc.

If it were a men's coat it would be the epaulets.

Certain styles of bodices have epaulets, so I don't see why I gown can't.

I have no idea. I was just speaking from what I know, which is men's clothing

a shimmering dark blue satin gown adorned at the neckline with delicate wisps of pale blue feathers.
