You struggle with the chest. As you do, you get a sense that the chest has an absurdly well-crafted lock (-1250 thief-lingo difficulty ranking). Then...CLICK! It opens!

That's with 61 ranks disarm/pick. I wasn't quite 1x. The beauty is when I hunt my little guys I can fry off their boxes using glaes or other cheap picks. Tayvin's last 3 or 4 levels were largely from boxes.
