What kind of white person are you?

I talked to my mother on the phone today and we had an interesting conversation. It really is only applicable to white people, so here it goes. Read the following descriptions and tell me if you agree with them or not. Also, pick at the end which one you believe you fit in the best.

!!NOTE!! You might use terminology for each catagory, but it generally remains the same!!NOTE!!

Hick - This is the bottom of the barrel. These guys live out in the country with broken down shacks, broken down trucks for the 60's and very dusty and poor living conditions. Their social and political views are narrow minded and twisted and it looks like clear signs of inbreeding has accured.

White Trash - Your everyday mullet wearing, motorcycle shirt sporting, NASCAR loving guy. This is the guy that goes to jail for beating the shit out of his wife and kicking his son out the door. They have families, but rarely know how to run them.

Redneck - Your average American. Works a blue collar job, manages to get himself into the suburbs, but usually lacks a college diploma which hampers his ability to think logically or reasonably. Love watching sports, drinking Budweiser, and going to bunker like bars. Love jobs such as "fire fighter" and "police officer"

Normal - This is the class that generally has a college dimploma, knows how to make choices, is a natural leader, and is not a push over. They can form their own opinions and make wise choices as far as family and their own lives are concerned. Generally are white collar workers or have some backround there.

Of course these are all general descriptions, but what do you think?

They sound like generalizations, and generally the kind of things people tell each other to inflate their own self-esteem.

I like a good hillbilly joke as well as the next guy, but if you truly think you are in some way superior or more intelligent than a guy driving a beat up truck in Kentucky, simply because you get a weekly manicure...I don't know what to tell ya!

Also I wouldn't call the definition of normal anywhere close to the norm. Look around you do the majority of people fit into that statement? If not, guess what, it's not normal.

I tend to agree with that statement. I don't think a college diploma is the be all end all. Just putting the information that was given to me.

Normal with some redneck tendencies, mostly sports and choice in bars. Too much education for my own good, though. I think that hinders my thinking.

Eccentric is usually too specific for it to be put up seperately.

The only time the phrase "a normal" needs to be implemented into conversation is in the case of geometry or zombification. Otherwise, it's just dumb.

They have families, but rarely know how to run them. = NO, my family is run by both myself and my wife - decisions are mostly made by the both of us if its important enough, otherwise we make them independantly of each other.

Love jobs such as "fire fighter" and "police officer". = YES - I cant think of anything more honorable to be than someone who helps/protects someone else - especially for the low pay that they get.

Since when does a college degree enable you to think reasonably. I've seen some pretty stupid people get through college and I'd hardly categorize any "normal" person white or not as a natural leader.
