View Full Version : xxx: state of the union - the movie
ummmm.... I dunnno.
Nothing against Ice Cube but I liked the big honky fellow better. I just dont see IC as being that physical and all. He reminds me of a little doughboy with an attitude.

Saw the preview for it last night. Yeah, I think Diesel would have done a better job at the sequel (I have no clue if he died in the first one or what).
Cube needs to stick to gangsta and road trip w/ kiddie movies.
The last scene of the first xxx movie was of him diving under water and making out with that hot russian chick. Unless he drowned during that I'll be interested to see how they set up the story line. I hope, hope, hope, they dont try to pass off IC as the same character that Diesel was...

In the preview I heard, Samuel L jackson said the steroidal guy died.
Was it true? A trick to lure the black guy with em?
We shall see.
p.s. XXX sucked big time
Actually, I thought the first xxx was entertaining and some of the stunts were pretty good. Of course, I did not go into the movie expecting to see a literary classic either. Set your expectations to match what you're going to see and you'll most likely be satisfied with your outing... even suprised on some rare occasions.
However, X, if your grasp on the english language matches your ability to speak it, then I would expect that any english speaking movie you'd see would suck from your perspective.

Earth to America, Earth to America, we must tell you that there is other civilized countries beside yours that speak other languages.
Yes, that means that their movies aren't in english but in their national language.
An example: Spanish in Spain, Français in Québec/France, Portuguese in Portugal, Russian in Russia, et cetera.
But to be serious a bit, I thought the movie was bad for one reason: That big guy. It's like those movies of Van Damne or Jet lee that are bad just because o f the actor, a movie ABOUT the actor.
:spaz:
I wasnt talking about other countries, I was specifically mentioning you. But scarily I agree with you on the point that movies made around an individual actor do not tend to be stellar pieces. The same could be said for legends such as Arnold's movies, Stalone's movies, and even John Wayne's movies... wait, there's more... Clint Eastwood's dirty harry movies... Only thing is, if the above statement were true about actors and the movies that surround them, why are they so successful and why are some/most considered legends???
Additionally, I consider Jet Li's ability to perform almost pure art so when I see a movie with him in it, its solely for that reason... to see him perform.

Seen the previews for Unleashed?
oh yea, saw it first in the theaters, then found a similiar trailer on the link below. It will be an interesting expedition into the human psyche if man were to treat a fellow man the same as fighting dogs are trained/kept. If anything, the fight scenes alone will prove memorable. This goes back to the concept of humans as property. (insert circumstance here: slavery, prostitution, gladiator, etc.)

How do people get the money to make idiotic movies like this?

The third one's apparently got Diesel back, if this one's successful.

This made me LMFAO. Look at the crap they make in Hollywood these days. I would say it is easier to get a crappy movie funded than a good one.

they usually get their $ from me via blockbuster...
It has to be epic for me to hit the theaters.
