Please, take 5 minutes of your time and complain. Don't do it cause of me, don't do it cause of you. Do it cause it's wrong.
They want to nerf the big farmers? fine.
They want people that makes 5 digits profit per month get less? fine
The damn lootcap is not that though. It was understood and demonstrated that the majority of players SUX at gemstone. So the 5% they're aiming it at, is everyone that happens to be good at what they do or design their team to be efficient. 10m per month is, for the MAJORITY, it seems, to be a lot.
Do NOT let them make this game a farce. Anyone winning more than 10m for regular hunting shouldn't be penalized.
Complain and let this game thrive. Stop some boomers to have "solidarity" when all they need to do is get good, tabarnak.

Murrandii I think you're worrying far too much, based on how I've seen you merchant then you're always going to be rich you are the number 1 reason why Wizards command such huge enchanting premiums. After the initial enchanting changes you had the testicles to ask for 300 silvers per essence long before anyone else did and you got it, I quite frankly thought you were out of your fooking mind (I was charging 1 third of that as a capped wizard) but you managed to set the tone and it stuck.
The 5 percenters are always going to be in the 5 percent because they're the most anal about efficiency and mechanics. From what little Estild has said I don't think the majority of players have the login time or motivation to even reach a fraction of the cap. If you're worried that people aren't going to have the silvers to buy your things then people will just bypass silvers altogether and use USD instead.
I'm indifferent to the cap because in the long run I don't think it's going to change very much I think it was only made to target Mr or Mrs 60%.

I understand what you're saying.
From our research, the softcap hit as low as 10m per month. That is NOT aiming at the 5%. LOL

That's basically on the nose what I get from treasure with my capped wizards if I don't use any boost loots. However I can hit that cap with 1 15 minute major boost loot on my low level bard/cleric/ in a low pressure area so I'm not sure if the cap really is that low because it would make the login rewards worthless and they're already capped at 11 or 12 per month.
If the login rewards are excluded from the cap then I'm personally fine with 10m silvers, you get your monthly cap, what ever perks you get from consistently logging in and then your services. On top of that you don't have to worry about inflation from Mr or Mrs 60%. I honestly think you're in a good place Murrandii when you compare your self with other people, ok you might not become a multibillionaire if you aren't already but you're never going to be able to compete with the whales and like it or not the game revolves around them.. Stillfront isn't a charity and they're the majority shareholder.

I too was rewarding myself with the lucrative sale of GemBone silvers. After the silver holocaust, I now somewhat feel your pain. However, be reminded that we are still free to play make-believe all we want. Don't let's waste our lives by cutting into the GemBone profits. Take care now! :P

I was charging 300 per right out of the gate and had no idea that that was considered high to begin with, since I had no problems selling it ever. I was always curious why you kept lowballing yourself when I'd see you advertise on LNet, when people are willing to pay more.
The 5 percenters are always going to be in the 5 percent because they're the most anal about efficiency and mechanics. From what little Estild has said I don't think the majority of players have the login time or motivation to even reach a fraction of the cap.
This is debatable. I don't keep track of shit other than checking my bank balance now and then, and I'm too lazy to give a shit about most game mechanics. I just had a general routine that I worked out based on simple observations and what was easiest to juggle with work. I'd get to work, run Confluence until it dries up, then head to plane 5 until I clock out. It was kind of an accident that I discovered plane 5 loot was so good because that's where I had to go to farm favor after I burned all mine up in pre-nerf Confluence.

Sounds like the opposite of what Simu is wanting to happen. Unless people are buying it from them of course.

I don't have a problem with the concept of a cap. I still think it's unnecessary and is going to result in lower DR participation, but my biggest problem with how it's currently set. 10m is way too low, and I really don't get why they're trying to shift this game to cater toward super casuals when they rely heavily on whales to keep the lights on. If you're throwing thousands or tends of thousands of dollars at a game regularly, you're not a casual. You can pull in 500k-1m a day just from doing bounties in the Confluence a couple hours a day without staying out grinding/farming it, assuming you're purifying and picking or having your plinites picked.
According to Naijin, if you're playing for longer than 4 hours, you're not a casual, and if you're making 30m+ a month, you're farming.
I also have an issue with the huge contradiction that they're bending over backwards to ignore/downplay, which is that people already make 48732094230942 silvers at DR. Last DR run just from pawnshop bullshit, I pulled in 9 digits with my characters, and I started late and barely knew what I was doing for the first couple days since it was my first run and didn't have everything running at full speed until about halfway through the event. Hoy pulled in almost 400m that same run with his characters. I expect to pull in much more this next run than I did on the previous one.
We were promptly dismissed and made out to be liars (or just called a liar, in Naos's case) in Discord over it this morning by Estild/Naijin/Naos.
Everything is balanced as long as you're handing Simu cash for it. Otherwise it's OP.
I'm pretty curious to see how this affects DR participation though. Probably won't notice a big difference this run, but August or whenever the next one is will probably be more noticeable if people shuffling books for silvers and all that goes away.

Well I think they're either being a little disingenuous or genuinely unaware because each win pack averaged out at 15k-20k in silvers just from at the pawnshop. Can you remember which channel they said that in?

It was in mechanics. I think it's a mixture of both, but mostly them being disingenuous, because they've always been full of shit like that.

You offer to sell your crystal-edged blade to Cendadric.
Cendadric takes your crystal-edged blade, glances at it briefly, then hands you 135 silver coins.
!>
Ah well, my non-scripting casually try to pick up 8 crystal weapons in a disk on the way out couldnt keep up with the uber-leet bots of OTF anyhow.
TLDR, they seemed to have dropped the last zero off what these used to pawn at.

So, a couple questions here. If the fellow in the post above me didn't pick those swords in the disk, would they have counted as loot? Or it only triggers when you sell?
What about gem hoarding? At the moment I'm full but lets say I moved to a new town, I likely would not sell gems for a long time while I build up a stash. Are those not triggering until I sell?
And what's this about DR books? If you sell one book and deposit silvers it puts you at the cap? What if you don't deposit?
And this is really all tied to billing or IPs? How long until someone goes down the road of making sure they are connected on multiple IPs with different billing names? Sure, it seems stupid and extreme. But so does farming the game.
Its very annoying to have to try to figure this stuff out because the cap was set too low to begin with. It was made out like we wouldn't even have to care. But right now is when people have the most time in the history of the game to be able to play it and 10m seems easy to hit.

I don't think its 10M.
16M soft cap, 20M hard cap last I read but haven't been following it much.

Two points of clarification:
Paid event and quest areas are exempt. They're already restricted by access.
It was discussed and we do agree, there's no potential for abuse to tell you when the penalties start. The soft cap doesn't start until 16m and even then, the penalty starts so low, it's pretty much impossible to notice. The hard cap is 35m. You can definitely go higher than that, since we don't attribute all treasure to the total (some players are already at 40m for this month).

I support your questions. I myself have little understanding of the gameplay so far. Of course, I expected it to be more understandable. It is rightly noted that now, in times of remote work and the need for self-isolation, one of the best ways to pass the time is to play.
I too disseminate discussion in Human English and please myself to make your acquaintance and advices.

OTF weapons spawn in the critter's hand, so it shouldn't count toward the loot cap, since it's not considered treasure "generated" by you, since it was already there before you killed anything. That's why they nerfed the price from 1500 to 150, since most people don't bother picking them up. Apparently people have been running scripts for years up there to scoop them up and sell them.
What about gem hoarding? At the moment I'm full but lets say I moved to a new town, I likely would not sell gems for a long time while I build up a stash. Are those not triggering until I sell?
It's based on when it was generated, or at least it's supposed to be. i.e. If you sell a pile of gems from October, it shouldn't affect your loot cap for this month. If it does, then something is bugged.
And what's this about DR books? If you sell one book and deposit silvers it puts you at the cap? What if you don't deposit?
Player to player transactions don't count. Only newly generated treasure.
And this is really all tied to billing or IPs? How long until someone goes down the road of making sure they are connected on multiple IPs with different billing names? Sure, it seems stupid and extreme. But so does farming the game.
No one is really sure about this, if it's just per account or affects linked accounts or is IP based or what. IP based is unlikely though.
