Hunting the Confluence

I'll be making my first hunt as a wizard in the confluence soon. Looking for any hints or guidance you all might have. Thanks in advance.

Make sure you have a way of surviving 435 or avoiding it completely, if you're questing alone I'd take 60 earth lore ranks for the extra 950 cast, also I've heard 504 works well in there although I never used it.

You're going to die ALOT until you get a hang of the elementals and the area so don't let that put you off if it's somewhere you'd really like to hunt. Imo the confluence is only worth hunting if you can consistently open the plinites or if you're looking for essences to level alchemy.

You’ll still get one shotted by major ewave at times no matter what. I’m in MCP doubles and a good open roll will still get me.

Random stuff in no particular order:

Have rapid fire running nonstop. Get 200 EMC ranks ASAP if you don’t have it yet. This should be your first post cap goal anyway.

Spam minor steam on cold side and vs lightning on hot side, 907 for steam elementals, minor water for lava/fire.

Wear doubles with as much crit padding as you can get. Despite the open roll one shots it will still make a big difference.

Train Survival to reduce movement RT. Depending on your air lore this might not matter as much.

Join Voln. Not really mandatory but you’ll die less.

60 earth lore for 2x 950 per minute and an extra 550 per day is pretty handy.

Keep your DS in the 550 range to minimize dispels. If your DS is too high you’ll get dispelled a lot when they swing and miss.

The cores that come from plinites can be really useful. Most can be used anywhere but they’re typically most effective in the Confluence.

Don’t count on being rescued when you die.

And probably some other stuff I’m forgetting.

Why would you die less in Voln?

Symbol of Transcendence will save you a lot.

Symbol of Renewal for spirit since you typically lose a few spirit points when you enter.

Symbol of Recall and Dreams for when you get pwned to minimize downtime.

Fogging out is a lot easier too.


COL and GoS aren't terrible in there, Voln just has more uses overall.

And Voln is just better anyway.
