Is this for GS hardcore? If not you can attend Dreavenings and basically be impossible to kill until 50.

no not hardcore it’s a wager by two rich guys ingame. im basically a greyhound dog being bet on along with 2 other dudes.
just trying to pick the brains of the experts for the most fastest and safest hunting route to 50.

Not sure what parameters the competition has, but if you're going for 50, go for a pure profession (sorc, wizard) where you can hunt from guarded stance and hunt at level or a level or 2 below. If you're careful, plus Dreavenings, shouldn't be too difficult to make it to 50 without dying.

real quick for grimswarm camps can you open them so you always get a particular race of grimswarm? or is it all random?

A camp is always the same type of grim, once it is opened.
Also, warcamping is not a good idea if you want to stay alive.

well I guess i fucked up already. thought if i had an instant hunting ground where i can fry in 5 minutes i would level the fastest.

Warcamps are great for frying in 5 minutes. However, there is also a significantly increased chance of dying compared to other hunting areas.

What profession? A lot of your* optimal path will depend on that.

already mentioned human paladin. it has to be a paladin although the race can be variable. i figured humans are neutral at everything.

I'm blind.
I don't know shit about paladins, so I have no advice other than to reroll a pure if you want to win the race to 50. Pretty sure paladins are slow killers.

wow i guess im done then. three of us rolled for class selection out of cleric, wizard, and paladin. i rolled low and paladin was the only one remaining.
not sure if i should bother now. well thats shitty.

For what it's worth, some things may have changed and I could be completely wrong.
But the wizard is still going to win unless the guy playing him is brain dead.

It's possible, but the wizard should blast through their teens in fire guardians, frying in like 2 minutes, and you can start killing those pretty early since they have almost no bolt DS. That small batch of levels alone could be enough to make the difference.
No idea what mana is like at lower levels anymore, but wands + 515 could also give the wizard a huge advantage while (probably, I haven't tested) being able to ignore the cooldown, since it shouldn't have any negative effect on the wands like it does with the increased mana cost when recasting 515 on cooldown, but he'll still be waving them in 1 second.
We can at least agree that the paladin will finish last if nothing else.
Sorry Kraven. You drew the short straw. :(

How has no one asked - "between two rich guys" betting on "3 greyhounds" - for how much??
As for Paladin racing, sure it's going to be harder - but depending on your level - if doing Paladin - I'd recommend Elf with maxed Physical stats and using an e-bladed Naginata.
Best self generating DS, fastest swing time, no downtime like mana users (unless they've got a wand maker for them). Most things 25 and below die in 1-2 swings from a pole-arm tops. Once hit 25 - Get into MBP - switch to a lance at 5 seconds - most dies in 1-2 swings to 50. If you stick to mainly cloth/leather types (or animals) you usually kill them in 1 hit. So 5-10 secs per kill. Which is 6-12 per minute (depending on spawn rates - but everyone deals with that so is a non-factor) - or 12-24 per 2 minutes - which is plenty to fill your head.
The mana users kill fast but at low levels have downtime hunting. You can hunt continuously without fear while they can't. The real trick, is finding the right hunting spot with fast respawns.

3x armor to get yourself in metal breastplate ASAP. Possibly continue with the 3x to get in full plate ASAP as well. Use a build with a shield and OHE/OHB, and grab all the defensive shieldmans like prop up and stuff. Generally under hunt and avoid critters that use maneuvers or casts too much spells. Stick to easy swinging type enemies like zombies.

An addendum, you'll be almost unkillable in a warcamp with a Dreavening until level 16 or so. Critters get spells based on their levels, so you won't be getting dispelled until level 17 and you don't really have any maneuver spells to worry about until 17, when things start learning to boil. 20 things will begin to implode you. So hunting camps until about 15 i a solid plan, and then you can just ignore them forever (you should have mastered GoS by this time).
