I searched for all 4 on the death index, and none of them showed up (though there is a Zodiern). While it's not 100%, if they don't show up on that they probably aren't active and haven't been for a long time, reducing your chances of finding them by a lot . Agreed with above, probably better to start new characters or buy something in the range you want to be.

I’ve had luck asking Chris in billing to help find old characters. She can usually pass a note along (if the email they use is active and they check it)

Where can I find the "death index" I have found it once before and loved looking myself up and this makes me want to look for my very first character to see if they are active *though I doubt it*

LOL at not being active if not on the death index... yeah, I'd call that not even 50% reliable. People can be playing characters pretty actively and not show up on there. :P

Yeah... I'd say that's wrong but okay. The only real way is if they are simply utility characters and don't hunt. That's the wonderful thing about RNG and shit like SMRv2 with open rolls. I'd put it at more 80+% reliable. Never claimed it was 100%, just said if they don't show up on that list, they likely aren't active.

I always love seeing players return. GS4 is really entwined with a third party software, Lich. It’s a free software.

In it, you can bring up maps which show your location on screen and communicate with other players, regardless of where they are in the game. 98% of all players use Lich while playing in Gemstone.

At first it may seem daunting, but it’s really easy to use. It takes some of the tedious tasks away from GS4.

Ahhhh, see, I didn't realize you were looking at ALL of the Death Index, and not just like, the past two years or so. I think it's hilarious that my main's last death was in March of 2018, though, and I hunt bandits with her regularly (so, yeah, she gets hit with RNG and SMR shit all the time)... I've got at least two other characters that I hunt with regularly, who are either not recent (also last-death being in 2018) or not at all (no deaths on the Index).

Some others that I put in have latest death's dates at least three-ish months ago: Svardin, Rozy, Dirvy, Luxelle, Xorus, Kothos, Tolwynn... and the list could probably go on, those are just names I pulled up randomly.

I guess if you're going on the "not on the Death Index, ever" paradigm, yeah, it's probably more like 80-85% reliable. But, people can be active, and still not have Death Index entries for at least several months, to several years.
