Enchanting a briar flare weapon

I was lucky enough to win one of the briar flare weapons raffled off at briarmoon. Do you need to pour a pre-enchant potion before casting and if so which one?

You don't need pre-enchant potion for anything anymore. They're optional, they exist to reduce the difficulty.

I'm pretty sure the flare potions are only for elemental flares. The only other pre-enchant potions are urven'eth which you must use for sanctified and enhancive items, which briar flares are not innately either - so unless the weapon those flares are on is enhancive or sanctified, you should be fine with just normal potions from the wizard shop and enchanting.
