The Cat In The Hat

I was listening to the radio earlier and this song came on that I really like, but I would be soooo embarrassed if anyone ever caught me listening to it. We have other music threads, thought this might be a fun one.
Admit it!!
What a feeling from the movie Flashdance.

Scenes from The Replacements (Keanu Reeves) with the guys in the jail cell still crack me up.

Because I don't like proving a stereotype right, I'm a bit embarassed that I like Cher, Madonna, & Kylie Minogue. A few Britney songs too.
I agree on Raining Men. It's a very catchy tune. I swear I love women.
Also, I play Gemstone ( I am embarassed of that)
And.. I'm hardcore metro :(

That will be worth something, someday.
It is illegal for them to produce more copies of that album.

Yeah, that song makes me misty eyed....it reminds of a good friend that passed away a couple years ago. Not sure why that song in particular, but it does. Actually, yesterday was the 2 year anniversary of his (and his sister's) deaths. Shitty week.
On the embarassing/cheesy side...I have a tendency to whistle or hum the BeeGees "Stayin' Alive", often and for no apparent reason. I don't think I've actually heard the song for atleast a month, but it's a tune that's always in my head. Ugh.

Most country songs. I still amaze my girl even to this day with my crazy country music knowledge.
Also some of the older rock songs that I just can't help but sing along to. Sister Christian & Jesse's Girl come to mind.
Cher, Madonna, and pretty much the entire Dirty Dancing soudtrack (except that song by Patrick Swayze, ewww).

I recently acquired several Bay City Roller mp3s and the absolute most embarassing is the Leif Garrett one accompanying the others.

Just about every bad 80's song known to man is on my playlist.. and I'm sad to say I went through a terrible backstreet boys phase some years ago. Damn those catchy pop tunes.
Oh and another one you'd like to shoot yourself in the head to get it out.... Hanson's mmbop.

Oh man I have a ton of 80's songs and one-hit wonders. Whenever I take my iPod to workout, my fiance says to me, "Off to sweat to the oldies?" :grr:
I also have the Nelsons on there, to which I have to constantly hear, "OMG who the hell is that?!"

I went to a Styx/Peter Frampton concert last summer and Nelson opened for them... SOOOOOO funny. And I was like one of 3 people I swear who knew who the hell they were.

It's a childhood thing, I swear...
Styx rocks, I had their greatest hits album in my CD player this afternoon... track 15. Mr. Roboto rules all. Of course, I remember buying the cassette album when Mr. Roboto was first released....

I like a little bit of every kind of music although techno is by far my biggest folder. But this... I swear, I don't know how it got on my hard drive. I suspect it might have come with the desktop. Damn my mother for ordering Dell.

LMAO!!! I actually liked most of the songs everyone posted, but this one is def. a winner. I don't think any songs I listen to are embarassing, but we caught one of our girls listening to Deam. That's ummm...yeah, no comment.

about 90% of the songs i listen to, I couldn't let most of my friends know about.
I don't listen to Cher nor Madonna. Nor most stereotypical gay music.
I do listen to some Britney though. I mean, come on. She's hot and you can dance to most of her stuff.

I have Billy Ray Cyrus singing 'Achey Breaky Heart', and once line danced to it in Disney World. I blame the tall drinks with the umbrellas.

[Edited on 4-7-2005 by Artha] True. I have that one on my playlist.
I'd have to add Meatloaf to the list... I dig some of his best stuff but my friends must never know this.

I should have read this thread earlier.... There are just soooo many embarassing songs I like.
One of the ones I'm listening to now is Dean Martin - Sway (not really embarassing just before my time)
Also there is Andy Williams - Speak softly love (for those who don't know its sung to the theme of the Godfather)
Also I've been obsessing with Chapel of Love recently... I'M GETTING MARRIED IN 3 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111 (sorry it's just starting to dawn on me and beginning to feel more real.)
Also too many to mention here but sooooooooooo many country songs I cannot even list them all.
I used to own New Kids on the Block cds! I even was pathetic enough to have posters on my wall (In my defense I was about 12, ok fine! I lied, I was probably 13, closer to 15 *sob*) le crie
I also owned a Vanilla Ice cd *sob* and a cassette single for ice ice baby.... and also I think i had the cd single too (DON'T JUDGE ME!!!!!)
GOD I also have Neil Diamond mp3s, I copied my mom's cd's *sob* (Please don't compare me with PB folks... I don't know what I was thinking at the time)
Ok I think I have to... umm go... delete some mp3s or something.
