Currently GoS Master but will be going Voln once I get my skills figured out.

I'd like to swap into a shielded brawler setup. I think I have the basics down; 2x brawl and 3x shield but the associated shield skills/cman skills aren't as clear to me. I know I need to max out shielded brawler and some other shield skills but I need help picking what shield size to go with. I'm familiar with some of the basics on shield size but I'd like to min max the best DS(or EBP) possible. End game is doing a kroderine soul build.

@Spiffyjr Basically I want to copy your warrior build!

If Naijin will share, i'd be interested.

Honestly I have tried it out on the test server and didn't like it as much. There's a thread right below this one that discusses a shielded brawler type shield. It is not bad, but honestly a standard THW build seems stronger to me for a few reasons:

1. Weapon bonding - you miss out on one of the strongest (if not the strongest) warrior cmans.
2. Berserk - your berserking with a THW is a much stronger defense with a THW since you are stunning more and hitting harder per blow, that way you can manage crowds much better.
3. Armor - assuming you are not going to go full plate because of the MM factor, you are losing out on yet another warrior strength. I totally disagree with the robe/LAM build and think it does not play to the warrior strengths - if you get hit, you will get stunned as opposed to taking 5 damage. big warrior nono.
4. Stances - you dont get the great monk UAC stances like krynch/flurry.
5. No mind over body, monk only so the stamina costs that let monks mstrike everything, we don't get.

I think i'd summarize warrior UAC as a not quite as good monk. I think some might disagree, but I'm convinced that standard ambush leg/head (or even feint/tackle, ambush head with maul) is just much better. Curious to see what others think

I’m curious what Halfling cman defense looks like on test relative to giantman. More buff, less buff, same?

I don't really disagree with anything you said. Shielded brawler warriors sure miss out on a few really profession defining abilities (bonding and krynch/flurry/1213).

I ended up fixskilling into a shielded brawler build, at least what I thought might be the best setup. To be honest it's worse than I imagined but in no way unplayable. I was a bit shocked to see how terrible the DS was even 3x shield/1x dodge. I am wearing plate but using a small shield to offset some of the MM penalties. Its not terrible just not the best. UCS/UAC berserk is kinda meh but I'm using it more get out of bad stuns vs normal combat. I'm not fully trained in shield specializations but added the min required plus shield strike mastery(adds a minor shield bash before focused mstrikes). Things are improving a bit as he gets closer to mastering Voln. I'll update the thread later with his current build.

My end goal here was to have a kroderine soul build and not a wanna be monk. As monks really do UCS/UAC better, with bards a close second.

Never understood why people harp on DS andnot look at EBP. You realize with shield block mastery or whatever and a tower warriors can literally get to it so 2 out of 3 attacks don’t go through. That’s 66% of attacks “missing” before the AS/DS layer get’s calculated.

interesting. if Naijin gets back to us, I'm still curious on his thoughts.

I think I am going to skip on the kroderine soul build. It looks interesting, esp if you can swing kroderine armor/shield/slippery mind, but IMO might be tougher for halflings because there is an assumption that you are still taking shots, and halflings have HP issues (as opposed to more traditional warrior races like giant/dwarf/half krol). Also I don't have the coin for the elite gear

Yes, EBP is important, and warriors have some great skills to take advantage of that.

Thats why I want to max out my DS(and EBP). I won't be buying any elite gear either. I'd like a script flaring shield, maybe some halfling only plate with flares, and standard UCS/UAC gear.

I ended up maxing out Shield bash and shield strike and I'm 110% disappointed. Not worth the shield points at all. I'll leave it alone for the time being but will fixskill out before the next free one in May.
