View Full Version : Comfortably Clueless.
After watching all this pwning of X, I thought it best to see who knows what.
Bascly , do you know shit about mechanics and ask others for thier help?
Or do you believe that if you play the game, you should know it inside out?
I admit to knowing fuck all.
Thank god I ask friends for help instead of spouting shit, pretending I know all.

I was a noob for a long time. I still have a long way to go too. I'll admit most of my knowledge is just taken from posts that I've saved and copied. Compared to folk like Tsoran, Porcell etc, I'm an Xcalibur.

That wouldn't make it nearly as fun :)
As far as indepth mechanics such as stats, avd, and matters like that, I don't know shit nor do I really care to learn the numbers of it all. I hate math. What I do know is the practicle applications of spells, when they're good, and stuff like that.

It depends on what people are asking help for. I know a lot about some topics, and don't know up from down to the others. If someone asks me though, I'll usually ask someone else and we're both learning. :)
I'm with Arkans, I'm more on the practical application side. I like to know some of the details but my eyes get crosseyed after you start getting into heavy calculations. I defer that to the Porcells/Nakiros/Bobs and the like.
Ive also got a close friend who plays that is an old coder with old friends in GS that gets fun little tidbits... he's my numbers guy. I just do the grunt work and put the calculations and theory to practice.

I know a little about most things, a lot about a few, and enough that my regularly played characters are good to above average at what they do.
Fortunately, I am friends with a lot of folks who know whay more than me about the number crunching aspects of GS. I also know where to look stuff up.
Seems to get me by just fine. Besides, I'd rather play with the RP verbs than crunch numbers.

I know a good amount about mechanics and know the basics of all the professions. I'm not the best number cruncher, but do pretty well for myself as far as stats and skills go. As far as calculating future stats and redux and that kinda stuff, I don't have a clue-that's what PC's for. :D

I'm horrible with numbers and mechanics and I never pretend to know either. I wind up either asking for/looking up the information on the boards or asking people whom I know are good with that type of thing, and that was mostly when I was creating characters or during the transitions of retraining them.
The guys on these boards, especially people such as StrayRogue and Bob, do a really good job of explaining mechanics, so you shouldn't have to go far to get the answers you need.
Although people who don't know much but yet try to come off as though they do and never admit they're wrong make me :puke: or :banghead:.

I am glad that I'm not a gemstone nerdz.
I know, but I don't know all.

I probably "know" about 80% of Game Mechanics, as far as what a Player can extrapolate.
Compared to what a FGM knows, I'd say it's more like 55%
Kinda what Snapp said. I know enough about the mechanics to get by decently well. If I need information on stats and crunching numbers I can find a faily large amount of info on the PC.
PC = THE best source of unbiased information that I've found to date regarding info needed via search/acquire methods. Its so much more engaging than wading through all the ass kissing, posturing, BS found on the play.net forum boards. Although, sometimes I do have to read the play.net boards if there's a hot topic and I hear that some solid info has been posted.

WTF?
You don't know what my sig means?
That took me about 3 attempts to try and nail it too.

The second part is somewhat ok, I understand it.
The first one has no meaning whatsoever dude.
If I speak like that here, I understand why some people are so confused:hippie::hippie::hippie::hippie::hippie:

It's way more harder to learn than english.
Vous (vous is used mostly for people you have respect OR at the second person of the plurial form). devriez arręter (oubliez) les conseils.
That would be better.

I hate to number crunch and in all honesty I don't care. I would love to see the "numbers" gone from when we attack or get attacked it just ruins it for me personally.
When I need to really know something I ask here you guys are great at helping me out.

Heh, I used to resemble that remark when I first started & didn't pay ANY attention to the numbers during attacks..
Now I know some things, I have a friend I IM if I need to know any number stuff though...no way I'm plugging all that crap into those formulas(no time).
