Legendary Feeder on 12/03/2020 05:40 PM CST

On January 1st, 2021, we're introducing a new Legendary Feeder that will be used for treasure drops in high level hunting grounds. This feeder will be stocked with auction quality items and 1-2 items will go out per month. It's our goal to help ensure that players can earn high end fluff and powerful items from normal play and not just from events. When a legendary item goes out, it will always be in a new special chest to note its significance. Below is a list of a few potential items:

T5 sigil staff
Wound Transference Mirror
Fully unlocked Two-Weapon Combat Vambraces with 7x adamantine blades, enhancive with +5 Brawling Bonus and +5 Edged Weapon bonus
Forehead gem
T5 mana-infused armor
T3 compartmentalized quiver
Fully unlocked Animalistic Spirit weapon
T3 Briar weapon
"Bugsquasher" quarterstaff: 8x, enhancive +10 Two-handed weapons bonus and +10 brawling bonus, somewhat crit weighted (50 services), grapple flares, polearm flares, insect bane with grapple flares

Hunt well and good luck!

Yay?

I mean...how else are they supposed to do it?

So, 12-24 "special" items a year are going to just be tossed out to the masses from higher level hunting grounds because......why?

It would be nice if they had some more interesting way of doing this over some completely random-ass chance that'll most likely go to some script farmers.

I would rather see them fix the shitty loot issues with hunting areas. I have no current reason to pickup boxes form OTF or Nelemar when I hunt. Even if a box weighs 35 pounds, the contents inside are usually pretty shitty. A couple of low end gems and 2-3k of silver....what a joke.

I think it's great. Non-randomly generated items have always ended up in the treasure feeder. Putting them in cool boxes and bumping up the contents on a few is a great addition. I don't see why they're limiting it to high levels, but I think it's cool.

This is cool. I wonder what they define as high level hunting grounds though.

Probably so people feel like there is an actual reason to hunt high level areas. Right now there really isn't any reason because the loot is pretty much the same from level 1-100+.

Even though I don't hunt post cap hunting areas I wouldn't mind if they made it so these items had a better chance to drop in post cap hunting areas as opposed to just capped hunting areas. Give another reason for people to hunt the more dangerous areas.

I think if one of these items drops they should do a game wide message that says

"Daedo found a legendary item box!"

AND if they leave it because reasons or because their script isn't grabbing boxes send another message (though this seems too intuitive to happen)

"Daedo left his legendary item, if you know where he hunts fight to the death to snag that prize!"

Just another Farmers delight.

Yay?

What else do you want?

Some people just want to watch the world burn and complain about legendary feeders.

This needs to happen, I'd like to see people find real semi precious gems in game, they cost literally pennies but you'll have a nice tangible souvenir of your adventurers. When you're old senile and in your rocker you can say, to your grand/great grand kids "Do you see this tiny amethyst? I found this in a dark castle after slaying a horde of Banshees!" They'll either look on with awe or remind you to take your NHS brain medicine.

Shouldn't be hard to do so long as they add a "U.S address only" clause to these. Costs like, $3 to $4 dollars to ship a first class package with tracking within the US. It'd be a neat thing for Simu to pick up again.

They used to do this. You would see "so-and-so just found a real gem!" and then they would actually mail you a gem. I have a smokey topaz or something.

I have a garnet somewhere but I have no idea where it is after 18 years of moving around.

Admittedly, it was pretty cool when I got it.

I have a blue topaz that has been sitting in a jewelry box for the better part of a decade now. I was a little surprised they didn't do a Real Gem push during the #PlayTogetherApart promotion.

Lawsuit protection would be my guess and I would also guess that more changes will be coming.

1.) Accurately and transparently disclose odds for winning.
2.) Insure that alt currency (simucoins) are not the only means to obtain lootbox auction quality items.
3.) Consider substantial parental controls on loot box purchases made by minors
4.) Ensure that there are minimal “fine print” terms or fees that consumers plausibly could contend are hidden or obscured
