How to Get a Free WaveDancer Ticket

Consider the following, which actually happened.

Nilandia bought a ticket for the Wave Dancer, Stateroom Double Occupancy, First Run.

She was stupid enough to put the purchase on a credit card that did not have enough available balance to put the charge through. So, her ticket was cancelled and put on sale again. It was bought by someone else.

She pitched a royal fit, on these boards and on Simutronic's official boards. Instead of telling her "sorry, that's life," the way Simutronics is so prone to do, they HELD a ticket for her on the third run so that she could purchase the ticket again. In effect, they allowed her special license to fix what she screwed up all on her own.

This is bad enough, but that's not where it ends. It seems that she pitched enough of a fit that Simutronics did not just allow her to "purchase" this ticket. Instead, they gave it to her. For FREE.

Consider Simutronics' track record when it comes to customer service. Why in the world would they give away a free Stateroom ticket to someone just because they pitched a fit? Then consider the fact that this person is also a GameHost, and you have your answer.

Way to go, Simutronics. And way to go Nilandia. Being discreet about your free ticket is one thing, but flat-out lying about it as you did in this post:

I have no idea where you get your information, but it is incorrect. I did purchase the ticket at full price. In December. If you will look at the purchase date, you will see that the date of purchase is December 2004.

I have had the ticket since then, but was asked not to mention the third run because at the time, it had not been announced. I agreed, paid normal price, and kept quiet.

I was upset that I lost the ticket at the time, yes. Was it my fault that I lost it? I don't really care. It's over and taken care of.

Can we please get past this?

The fact that Nilandia has been indiscreet about her free ticket, and about her GameHost duties in general, will come back to haunt her. Wait and see, believe me then if not now.

Nilandia has never been anything but honest and I believe she paid for the ticket.

She gave up all kinds of work on the first wavedancer to list all that was for sale on the ship for us. She made maps and she was helpful when merchants came about.

That was a lot of work. And all who go on the ship will benefit.

I think most people would be more surprised if Nilandia WASN'T at least host, with the amount of work she puts in to help the rest of us with her websites and stuff. Also, she's by far the best host I've ever had the pleasure of having an assist answered by.

On topic, Mistomeer, you said that you had trouble believeing "Just one Post" would make a new account simply to post a complete lie about Nilandia. You were right. Apparently, she is a GH as some of the posts since then have all but confirmed. So yes, part of his post was true. I still don't believe she didn't pay for her ticket. Whether or not she got that ticket because she's a GH and was very vocal about her displeasure at losing it on the 1st run, I don't know. But regardless, it's moronic and useless to worry over it when in all honesty, she deserves it at the LEAST for her work on the ship the first run.

I don't doubt that she paid for her ticket, that's a lot of cash for Simu to just kiss goodbye over some missed email and fault that was likely shouldered on both sides.

I like Nilandia too, but I agree with what HouseofElves said - don't keep making yourself the focal point of something that is obviously a bad situation for a number of folks. There wasn't a single good reason, imho to post on the main boards that you felt guilty.

I may not believe most of what JOP says, but I figure that there's a bit of truth in there somewhere. I think I might have an idea on who JOP might be, but I suspect it because they had a stateroom for the third run but were actually in first class on the first cruise and now their stateroom is the one that is up for resale. They could have been a guest of a FC person, but I somehow doubt it - and even then perhaps someone said tough noogies. :lol:

My intention of the post saying I felt guilty was because I honestly did at the time, and still do. Those who know me well know that if I have something that other people want, my first impulse is to share it. This time I can't. That so many people feel like they never had a shot at a stateroom or first class made things worse for me.

Do I regret having made the post? Perhaps. I guess it was my attempt to show sympathy for the people who felt left out and not let them think like they're hitting their head against the wall, so to speak. I do apologize if it seems like I was trying to draw attention to myself, as that was not my intent.

Fair enough. I can't disagree that Finis more than wore out his welcome on the boards during that time. I can see how you would be irritated, as I would have been too. My only thought in the back of mind was that you knew you had a ticket - even if it's not on the maiden voyage. (I think that turned out to be a blessing in disguise :lol: )
