View Full Version : I locked my keys in the house...

What a morning.
Everyone was grouchy because of daylight savings time and losing sleep.
Hubby left for work before I did. He put my keys in a place I do not normally keep them.
As I left the house I locked the door and closed it then realized I did not have my keys.
I went for the hidden spare and it wasn't there!
I walked across a field of cow crap to get to my closest neighbor ( yes I live in the middle of nowhere) who is quasi amish and I didn't even know if they had a phone.
I slipped in cow shit (was wearing my work clothes of a skirt and heels).
I call my mother-in-law since my hubby is dropping a kid there and ask her to send him home with his keys.
She decided to drive them herself and a 30 minute drive took her 55 minutes.
I get changed and zoom off and end up following my mother-in-law all the way to work again taking forever.
Old ladies shouldn't drive.
My boss was pissed. I did not have emergency plans out and he couldn't find my seating charts which were right in front of him!
URGGGGG
Nice start to a already crappy day.

Happened to me a few weeks ago (to a lesser extent). I walk the dog in the mornings and my girl is out the door before I am. I get back from the walk, go to open the door, and it's locked.
The doorknob is locked. We never lock the doorknob - we always lock the bolt lock (we have no key for the doorknob). The maids (who were told about which lock to lock) had come the day before and locked the wrong door.
I had my keys, so there was noone that could help me. I went around back (luckily I forgot to lock the fence) but alas, they had locked the doorknob on our back door as well (instead of the deadbolt).
So I put the dog in the backyard and go to a neighbors to call a locksmith.
About 15 minutes later a little asian guy gets out of his car, asks me if it's my house, and then picks my house's lock in 14 seconds. $80 for 14 seconds.
No cow shit or angry boss, but I can relate.

Nope cause now I am cheery again. Hubby called and felt bad about taking the spare key and not putting it back and sent me flowers.
Umm Not sure whats up there since he never even sent me any on Valentines Day.
Oh well anyway now I am cheery looking at my flowers.

BOB!!!
Where were you when I needed you...
You are supposed to be hanging out near amish fields when I need you.

Two suggestions, keyless door lock or move somewhere where cow dung doesn't separate you from your neighbours.

You don't have the key to your doorknob? It doesn't take too much effort to buy one for $15 and install it, you lazy fuck.
And yes, I'm training in lockpicking. I'm up to 1.5x.

Why do we need keys?
We can just call on Bob!
And we usually have a key in a fake rock under the deck but hubby never put it back last time he was locked out.

I've yet to successfully pick the lock I put on my door. I think it's a -1050. I'm glad I have two keys for it, else I would never be leaving my room.

Just fog his ass there, so you don't get ganked to the outskirts of town without your wallet.

I've never needed it in the 2+ years I've been in my house until the maid fucked it up.
I now have 3 copies of the doorknob key.
