On Wednesday, October 28, Auctioneer Baroqe will be accepting bids (minimum bid TBD, but will be at least 250k seashells) to participate in her Wheel of Fortune. The top 10 bidders will each win a spin for a guaranteed High End prize. You can bid for (and win) more than one spot/item. The exact list of prizes will not be revealed until the actual Wheel of Fortune event. Bidding will be open for 5 minutes.
What is "High End"? Two things you can count on are Spell Knowledge enhancives that may grant knowledge of either Elemental Targeting (425) or Empathic Focus (1109). Altogether, 7 of the items are (or have) a spell knowledge enhancive, with at least 3 of the items having level 20+ spells and 4 of the offered spells having never been offered before.
The highest bidders can choose to spin the wheel or pass to the next highest bidder. The prize for the spinner is the prize that the Wheel lands on or one of the consolation prizes.
OOC: This is a high end seashell event. There will be no other prizes or giveaways at the event; only the highest bidders will be allowed in the room during the Wheel spins.

That's right folks. All that work to migrate from the awkward issues of extreme high level players and balancing creatures during the GSIII days to GSIV are slowly beinging reintroduced with all the SK items going out the door at events.
But that's okay!
Because dev is slowly changing more and more over to the ever so loved RNG system of maneuvers!
So, be sure to pony up the cash to get these items to help boost your AS/DS/CS/TD.....only to find out later they're not as useful as they used to be.

SK items have always been absolute cancer to the game.

Hey, if you can't meet your revenue goals, you might as well be Baroqe.

They finally found a way to monetize EG like DR.
It's sad, EG used to just be a "fun" event.

Whale of fortunate, lol
Who the hell is "auntie H"? I am freaking out because I just watched mad max beyond thunderdome, where "bust a deal, face wheel" was run by "auntie" ... is this related to that, or just some cosmic coincidence. Do the GMs know I just watched mad max 3??? I have no idea what is going on, but I hope somebody gets spun for "gulag"

The real question you should be asking yourself is who run Caligostown.

So a few years ago, I did the whole script digging thing at EG. It was boring as hell and I didn't get anything greater than a T4. By the time I finally gave up, I had 15k shells for my 3 weeks of work. I wasn't digging day and night but I was do it every day for a decent amount of time. So I think the average person that script digs can earn about 20k shells for the entire month and maybe as much as 25k-30k if they really push themselves with the digging.
Even with all of that, you wouldn't even have 1/8 the amount of shells needed for a single spin of the Wheel of Fortune. There is a massive divide between normal players and the whales and it is only getting bigger.

Which is fine, I hope the whales enjoy their awesome items and hopefully one day they can sell some of us plebes a few.
My biggest concern is this train of thought going through the mind of Wyrom.
I sell super leet gear -> game becomes less of a challenge to whales -> whales no longer able to justify spending on even more super leet gear -> therefore I must make the game even harder and critters even more lethal...
Which eventually makes the game unplayable to us “normal players”.

"Auntie H" is GM Haliste. She who over the last few years has mastered the art of turning events into endless slot machine pulls (each pull costing actual $$) that will give you items that you then have to pull the slot machine more times for to "unlock."

First year I haven't done EG because I was annoyed with the whale catering.
