Hey guys,

Just curious if anyone has any ideas on this.

I have been toying with a 5 man team on my local PC, when I run all 5 instances of Stormfront with Bigshot running, my PC will occasionally BSOD.

The first lookups of the error seemed to be Video Card driver related, so I updated my drivers. But still the error randomly continues.

Is there something/anything I can do? or is it just scale it back from 5 :( Running 2 "bigshot" and 1 normal seems fine.

A modern computer should have no problem running 5 instances of the game and Lich.

Although you might want to try WizardFE. SF has some serious memory leak issues which if you're running one SF might not be a big deal, but 5 SFs might cause problems after a while. WizardFE doesn't have a memory leak and uses much less memory in general. I have 11 instances of WizardFE running and each only uses 4.1MB of RAM, which is practically nothing.

If nothing else you'll be able to eliminate SF as being the issue if your computer still crashes, or confirm SF was the issue if your computer no longer crashes.

I will note that if you have ;go2 running with no delay and all 5 characters are moving together then this might cause issues with your computer depending on how powerful it is.

When I run ;go2 for an extended period of time (like moving from Icemule to Landing) with all 11 of my characters moving together my CPU usage goes from about 10% to 99%. By giving ;go2 a .1 second delay my CPU usage never goes above 40%. I have no idea if this is causing your computer crashes but it might be something to consider.

I'm currently running Windows 10 x64 with an i9-9900k 3.6ghz processor with 32GB of Ram.

I'll give WizardFE a go and see if that helps, because this thing should have plenty of HP for this.

I tried installing Wizard FE, the v1 installs ok, but when I try to login to a char and it downloads/runs v2 it crashes and says to contact technical support. /sigh

I captured the BSOD message from earlier, "Unexpected Kernel mode Trap".

It claims I have a memory/disk problem, ran mdsched to scan memory (no errors found) restarted with Chkdsk /f (no errors found).

Feels like the memory leak might be my problem. If only I can figure out how to get Wizard FE running.

Sounds like a RAM issue.

The memory diagnostic in Windows is okay, but not as reliable as other programs.

Try running memtest86 (https://www.memtest86.com/) or use TPU memtest64 (https://www.techpowerup.com/memtest64/).

I haven't played with memtest64, but with memtest86 it's ideal to run one stick of RAM at a time and let it do 4 or 5 passes. The couple of times I used this I'd set it up to run overnight.

This could be a few things. If RAM checks aren't finding errors, check your seating and channel configuration. Check the mobo docs to be sure you are seated in the right slots for dual channel with the right slot priority. Obviously not an issue if you are running 4x8GB.

First indicator is usually the culprit. Nvidia or AMD card? Driver packages are drastically different. If AMD be absolutely sure your thermals are good and you're using Radeon Software 20+. I find 20.8.1 so far is quite stable testing with latest release cards like the 5600XT. Nvidia drivers aren't likely to cause a kernel issue themselves.

Is the 9900k overclocked? There's definitely something else going on.
