The following spell has been released.
Mindwipe is a difficult-to-defend warding spell, with successes reducing the target's effective level. Dropping in level implicitly reduces a target's AS/DS/CS/TD values as well as any directly level-based checks. This spell will have a 20 TD pushdown for the mass version and a 30 TD pushdown for the single-target version. The mass version can hit 3 creatures + 1 for every 50 MMC skill bonus. A failed warding results in a 30 second debuff to the creature target’s level based on warding margin.
A single target version of the spell may be cast for 13 mana, while the multiple-target version costs 25 mana.
The drop in level will not affect experience or treasure.

I guess yay monk...I mean minor mental spell development. But why oh why are they putting out spells only available to a SQUARE class as CS based? I'm surprised there's no spell aiming requirement. Savants coming?
I'd rather cast 1219 for 3 more mana or just open mstrike. Maybe this will be helpful in the new "challenging" hunting area.

Interesting concept for a spell, but I agree I wonder how useful it will be for the difficulty to cast and mana cost, plus the low duration.

Seems like it would help with groups.
That being said: It would work well with groups … as for solo'ing, eh. I spam 1608 and 1614 on my Pally before actively attacking stuff sometimes. Don't know.

Er ^ not groups of critters -- other adventurer's in the Monk's party.

Why else would it have such a big TD pushdown? Creatures barely have MnM TD as it is.

Probably so, you know, monks can use it.

Minor circle CS spells....
This would make much more sense if they had any interest in advancing savants/mystics or planned to move empaths to MnM. If the circle is only going to be for a square class than the effects, aesthetic and "to hit" method are all silly. I am sure they could modify (or maybe they already are that way) the MnM TD of creatures to the point that this will hit; and the effect seems useful enough in a vs boss scenario. SMR2 might not make sense (I guess they could have made it some sort of force orb throw thing), but why not make it like dispell where it just always hits and has some sort of discipline/inf/level check for how much it takes off?
As is, it looks more like a spell designed to give to creatures of the pure mystic/savant/seer type than something tailored for the only players that can use it. Unless I am wrong and there are many monks going for the mentalist/savant RP and hunting style.

Crap....just what I need to be cast at me from creatures, another spell that fucks over DS and TD plus mucks with level based checks.....wtf?
Sucks enough level based checks play a big role in spells and maneuvers that my wizards go squish....now to have a spell that could reduce level difference. Bah.
New items to sell at DR next time around.
Items that do SK 1225
Items that boost spell level checks.
More items that boost AS/DS/CS/TD

I wouldn’t buy it for the TD pushdown but rather for SMRv2 defense. Levels have such a massive impact on SMRv2 calcs that even a level or 2 under and you’re pratically immune to their cman attacks.
If they do release a SK 1225 then it would really sour the game for me as I now definitively know that they can give a crap about balance or game cohesion and are milking players for cash.

This is correct.
