Creature-found Long Bow

Found something and I'm not really good at reading the market. Any idea what something like this might be worth? I'm also trying to decide if it's worth turning it into a project. I could enchant it to 7x myself without any trouble but I'm not sure if that's a better choice than just selling the essence directly. Thanks in advance!

Polished and oiled to a faint luster, the spiralled limbs of this bow have been carved into the image of overlapping flames. The natural red-gold hue of the ruic, completely unaltered along the entire length, lends to its fiery appearance. Strips of alternating bands of red and orange leather surround the grip, while teardrops of ruby have been set into the nocks.
There appears to be something written on it.

Neat. By itself maybe 5m. Is it also a wand bow? The appearance seems to suggest as much.

It's not a wand bow. It doesn't seem to have any other properties other than what I listed, but yes, I was somewhat surprised that it doesn't have any sort of elemental feature based on the way it looks.

That's kind of where I'm torn. I could enchant it to 7x, try to add flares or more sighting at EG, and have it ensorcelled, at least to a lower tier. All of that would cost me somewhere north of 10m, I'm guessing, and the opportunity cost of the essence is 33m or so. If I really tricked it out, is it going to bring in at least 40m? Seems like it would be hard to sell. I've never really owned a rare/unique item before and it would take almost all of my available cash to put into it, so it would be a big hit to me if I can't sell it after the investment. I appreciate the thoughts so far though!

Really neat find! My two cents...

If this is an item that you'd like to use, you can upgrade it a bit to make it very functional without spending too much silver. I'd buy cheapo lowbie wizard essence to take it from 4x --> 5x, add a T1 or T2 ensorcell, and add fire flares at EG, as Nuadjha suggested. I'd suggest enchanting first, ensorcelling next and then adding the flares, to keep the cost as low as possible. This can be a fun, mid-tier item that you don't need to spend that much on. To reiterate - you will never get back what you put into it, so stick to the low hanging fruit when upgrading this.

Maybe the GMs made a pair and tossed them in the feeder.

I found a very similar bow with the same stats. I believe it was during this past DR. I'm also torn on what to do with it. I put it up on Merchant channel a few times for 5m and didn't get any bites.

Polished and sanded to perfect smoothness, the slender limbs of this bow have been carved into the image of wispy tendrils of clouds. The entire length of the ruic has been dyed a pale silvery hue, the airy coloration suffused with faint undertones of the wood's natural red-gold color. Strips of alternating bands of white and grey leather surround the grip, while teardrops of clear tourmaline have been set into the nocks. There appears to be something written on it.

Prior to this last DR I could have seen this fetching 5 mil.... but with so much sephwir found at DR it's pushed the prices down enough for that to be too close. It is a really nice bow though, I'd put a 1mil MB on it and see where it goes from there unless you have a shop and the patience to let is sit.

There was a lightning themed one found. Ironically enough, I found that one too. Both being used by Black Forest Ogres in the Blighted Forest in EN. Kiss of Flame will probably become available at some point, I believe Storm Bolt is in use by one of my friends.

Cool to know there's an air one out there too. I wonder where the earth one is.
