I'd like someone to explain why they cut the beak off.

That was a little disturbing, I don't think I'll be eating KFC anytime soon. And I think my breakfast may be coming back up...

OK, no more KFC for me. Why did they break the beaks off? I don't understand that.

If it's from PETA, why exactly are you believing it? We're talking about an organization that doesn't even spend 5% of its funds on the animals it claims to protect.
The only programs it will fund are those that give it publicity. Like putting dogs and cats to death in a public display.
PETA exists for one purpose and that is to fund it's media whoring in order to pull in more donations. Those donations are primarily used for the legal expenses of people that blow up farm houses and of course the over inflated salaries of it's top officials.
I didn't watch the video, but I can tell you that in most poultry processing plants the head is severed first and it's all plucking and boiling from there. I've never heard of this beak thing.

Its only a chicken.. but what I saw was just plain disturbingly nasty vulgar cruel behavior.

I didn't watch it.
I dismiss anything from PETA in the same way I dismiss superiority claims from inbreds without educations.

PETA is worse than national media. It thrives on fear and disgust and all of the negative things in American culture.
I believe anything PETA says like I believe anything Osama Bin Laden or David Koresh said.

Chickens tend to attack other chickens who look different than they do. Put a little black spot on one white chicken, and the rest of the other white chickens will peck it to death. That's why beaks are chopped in factories.

No pity
we're on top on the "food pyramid". when there's millions and millions of people to be feed, you expect stuff like that to happen..
there's worse happening' people dying of hunger in your streets' in your neighboor' and still i don't see it being talk like cruely with animals
weird philosophy

I don't believe anything that comes from PETA. I have a good friend here that was a quality inspector in a chicken slaughterhouse and she confirmed to me that chickens are killed as Tsa`ah explained, all across Canada. The regulated companies anyway.

Humans are omnivorous. We're built to be scavengers. There's a theory out there that surmises human beings used to satisfy their nutritional need for meat by sucking the marrow out of bones.
This is why the only vegans you see that are fairly healthy are those that work very hard at their diets, and take lots of supplements. We're meant to eat at least SOME meat. Not everyone can hunt to their heart's content.

KFC doesn't own any chicken factories, PETA loves to get this wrong, but KFC owns no more live chickens than McD's owns live cows. They buy it in bulk, from factories. If you eat chicken at ANY chicken place, from the freezer section in your supermarket, or if you buy a chicken in the meat section to cook it, they are mostly treated the same way. UNLESS you buy free ranging organic chickens for 9 bucks a pound, or get your chickens from "Uncle Joe's" farm. Those birds are treated a lot better, which you pay for.

The thing that cracks me up about the PETA is that they are asking for the humane killing of the chicken in the documents they have on the web about it. I'm sorry, but any killing of an animal can't be humane.

I find most activist groups demand solutions yet contribute little intellectually to see solutions are ushered in.
PETA is just one group out of 10s of thousands. That they haven't had every penny taken away from them by way of a slander case indicates how seriously corporations take them.

It's a video put out by PETA. It documents a very localized incident.
They do this not to protect the poor chickens, they do it to extort cash from a large corporation.
It's a very common song and dance.
I'm curious... what evidence do you have that PETA is purely in it for the money?

Read any number of non PETA released articles.
Hey, read activistcash.com
Draconis posted the link.
Ahh, interesting. I abhore inhumane treatment of animals, then again, I love a good ribeye. Honestley, I'd rather shoot some people before I killed a bug! But if I was hungry...
I dunno... they are just stupid birds. I like to eat them. They taste good. Why is this bad?

You would not eat a bug! Bugs do not produce ribeyes. ;)
HarmNone has faith that Backlash will not eat a bug

Gah! its been 24 hours and i still see the cute lil baby chicken looking at me with its beak cut off. I agree with Tsa'ah that its a localized thing and they used it for propaganda. Peta is a very weird organization that has a lot of nut jobs in it.
