Several people asked me for logs of the new death metal. I'm just going to be lazy and put the log here:
You swing an oak-hafted rolaren spikestar at a scaly hisskra champion!
AS: +609 vs DS: +471 with AvD: +28 + d100 roll: +4 = +170
... and hit for 25 points of damage!
Minor strike to the neck.
A dull misty green glow suffuses the rolaren spikestar as it absorbs some power.
You swing a twisted xazkruvrixis spikestar at a scaly hisskra champion!
AS: +607 vs DS: +471 with AvD: +28 + d100 roll: +36 = +200
... and hit for 47 points of damage!
You ripped a chunk out of the hisskra champion's left leg with that one.
** Your xazkruvrixis spikestar emits an ominous black-green glow! **
The life drains visibly away from the hisskra champion, as she collapses before you, dead!
The hisskra champion collapses in a motionless heap.
A scaly hisskra champion recovers from being rebuked, regaining her composure.
Roundtime: 5 sec.
Other details:
This is a category B flare (standard flare slot) and appears to have the standard flare rate. So think Low Steel, not Ghezyte.
Because it's Cat B, it cannot be blessed
It works against any creature that can be crit-killed- living or undead (Though it would need to be sanctified or have GUB for that)
Enchant difficulty doesn't appear to be particularly bad
You must be level 100 to hold it unless you use the Sorcerer demon trick. It still won't kill an uncapped sorcerer in that situation. So it doesn't actually kill uncapped characters who hold it any longer- I vaguely recall Wyrom changed it shortly after release to avoid abuse.
It has the ability to work off your Death's Sting if you use it against a creature over level 100. This effect is part of the flare and doesn't take up the script slot.
It's 5x at base
Even though I joke about the name, I actually find it kind of fitting and wouldn't change it personally
Fun Fact: These aren't the first weapons to flare death. There are two soulstealer weapons out there. Each is 10x and sanctified and each automatically kills its target on a flare. Those flares drain one spirit from the wielder. (Xazkruvrixis does not). They are VERY old weapons- mid-90s ish from what I'm told. Nordred knows more I believe.
Other fun fact: For a while Vishra was actually retrained to OHE because I had one of the soulstealer weapons and wanted to bond to it. It was really fun.

Sadly I must inform everyone that xazkraffrasizingler ore doesn't actually kill sub-100 characters who hold it.
New death metal sucks

now you should get a transmutation cert to change the metal into something that can be pronounced. cool idea for a metal, stupidest name ever.

Maybe it's an anagram? Anyone try rearranging the letters to find a coherent name?

I realize my original post wasn't that helpful. So I've added additional information on its mechanics and on similar death flaring weapons that pre-date xazkruvrixis.

All spikestars are superior
In terms of forging quality like Perfect, Superior, flimsy, or is that not how it works with ores?

Sorry! I actually did mean to give you a serious reply, but I got distracted. Stupid work.
When you get a weapon made for you from scratch by a GM (like the ores), it's never player forged. So basically if the ore itself is something players can't forge with (coraesine, black ora, ghezyte, xazkruvrixis, etc), then there is no way to get it with player forging bonuses attached. I believe that's an official policy- only players can make superior/perfect/etc weapons. I'm actually a fan of this system personally, though of course you always wish you could get them made like this.
The one option that exists at this point to have your cake and eat it too is the major transmutation service Wyrom is going to offer at the end of Duskruin. But you can count on the bids for that being sky high.

Deets on this major transmutation?
Honestly I don't know much except it's a way to change the metal and properties of an item.
Others may know more.

I can see someone like Roblar taking a great interest in something like this. Take his plain jane nonforged Rolaren handaxes into Ghezyte handaxes. Bidding must be insane for something like this. Watch as some rich jackass converts his 8x hcw vultite greatsword into something... I would be so pissed.

Deets on this major transmutation?
The LESSER transmutation cert in the HESS (for 15k BS) has the following description:
The bearer of this message is entitled to have an item transmuted to another item's material. The two items must be of the same material type (metal to metal, wood to wood, etc.) and the material cannot have any innate properties (ie: no sephwir, coraesine, etc.) This will NOT affect enchant, flares, or any other properties that either item may or may not have. Some items may be ineligible due to existing properties.
I'm guessing the GREATER/MAJOR transmutation will allow for material changes that do have innate properties, and possibly metal->wood/wood->metal, or other similar game-balance-breaking things.

Ghezyte? You're thinking way too small. Using Major Transmutation to add Ghezyte to a weapon would require stripping the weapon of any scripts and flares it already has just for a -DS / -TD flare. You're essentially talking about paying millions of BS to, in effect, downgrade a weapon. There's much better options than Ghezyte.

No it wouldn't. Ghezyte flares live in the material slot. They don't take up Cat B or D

If that's true, I stand corrected. Then Ghezyte is amazing. I'm still skeptical, though. Have a source?

Ghezyte is pretty amazing (I have the battle axe) and probably the best option for the greater transmutation on melee, if only because xazkruvrixis won't be allowed: https://discordapp.com/channels/226045346399256576/594009933763051549/743218914514960475
