Back after a lengthy absence and trying to catch up on a few things. I take it from the posts I've seen that the only advantage to over training in Armor last 150 would be its contribution to redux?

Every 50 ranks above what you need to wear the armor helps with something too. I don't know exactly what, that part has always confused me.
Also if you're a rogue, paladin, or warrior you also get armor points that allows you to train in certain skills too.

Overtraining in the Armor Use skill will reduce the experienced Action Penalty of the armor. Every 50 ranks acquired above the minimum ranks required to train off Roundtime penalties will result in an Action Penalty reduction of (Armor Group - 1). The maximum reduction is capped at 50% of the original action penalty.
They also recently removed the "maneuver" training requirement for armor. So you only need to train to the base RT threshold but it makes sense, especially for warriors to get the required ranks to train off Action penalties.

What exactly is an action penalty? I guess that's the part that confuses me. Like anything that incurs a roundtime like standing up?

Action penalties affect standard maneuver rolls (ewave, earthen fury, etc) and simple things like standing up.

For some reason I thought it had to do with round times. That makes sense. Thank ya.
