View Full Version : {rest}
More of an interface question...
I remember many years ago there used to be a way for you to execute a single IG action while utilizing the {rest} command (CTRL+R) under the Wizard FE's CTRL Macros. It would execute this action at intervals equal to checking your experience with {rest}. I remember people used to perform this action with (So-and-so snores quietly) and the like.
Does anyone remember how to do this, again? Thanks.

The only thing I can think of is that they were running a script.
I've never encountered such an option, and as far as I know, {rest} is preset to do experience. You'd have to alter the Wizard itself if that were the case.

{rest}<action> puts you into "resting" mode. This is handy for when you have to step away from the computer for a while, but you don't want to be logged off. The Wizard will output an "experience" command every two minutes, followed by the action you have specified. For example:
{rest}act snores softly.
Would do the following every two minutes:
exper <press enter>
act snores softly.

Didn't it used to default to the "snores softly" act even if you put nothing in? I vaguely remember entering my own ACTs when I found out I was able to, but I think originally just going into rest mode would do "act snores softly" by default.
I was always under the impression that they removed that feature from rest mode due to "abuse", whether intentional or not.

There was a default action for the Rest command, but I'll be jiggered if I can remember what it was. It may have been "snores softly". That rings a bell. :shrug:

It was definitely snores softly.

I think it was in for a little while but then people kept snoring every damn place so they took it out.
Imagine TC filled to the brim back during AOL and every third person snoring every couple minutes. It was funny for about ten seconds.
