View Full Version : Existing padding and adding services

Can someone explain to me how existing crit padding on an armor works with the CER system? I have a leather breastplate that is permanently somewhat crit padded. When I go to the smith to get services, there is no impact of that existing padding on the cost (presumably because that's just service window related). Does adding services start counting from whatever CER the somewhat crit padding is converted to? How does you find out exactly how many services equivalent are already on the item (warrior assessment?)? Basically, does the system work such that existing padding is converted to CER, and then when you add services its counted from that CER starting point, or is there some sort of separate system?

Adding OTHER services (enchant, flares, TD, scripts), increases the cost of WPS per point. Higher levels of WPS increase the number of WPS points to get an additional CER.

What he said. Existing WPS doesn't directly affect your cost (per SERVICE) outside of the increases for getting X services in a specific window.

The cost increases by virtue of the amount of services per-cer required

0-5 CER requires 10 services per CER
6-10 CER requires 20 services per CER (effectively doubling the cost)
etc.

Also if you ever add multiple types of CER on the same item (crit + damage on a weapon or armor) there is a surcharge associated for having both types.

Understood. But adding services does add on to the existing SWCP? Traditional SWCP is 5 CER effectively, so it would take 70 services to make it 6 CER? I'm just trying to figure out where I am at with the CER rating because I can't keep track of it like I could with a services on a fresh item that didn't already have padding.

At 5 CER it has 50 services, so 20 services would get you to 6 CER, and on from there.

If your item was SWCP in the old padding system, it should have converted to somewhere between 5-6 CER/50-70 services in the new system. Obviously the higher the number the better for you. I don't know how these converted, but you can find a warrior to ASSESS your armor to get your exact numbers. Warriors usually aren't hard to find in-game at any given time, but if you have trouble finding one shoot me a PM here and I can meet you in Icemule or FWI.
