Profanity FE and highlighting

I've started using Profanity and it's not clear to me how I can add my own highlights. All the documentation and references I find refer to using some config file and adding your highlights in XML format. I don't see any config file. All that was downloaded with ProfanityFE was:
profanity.rb
.gitignore
LICENSE
README.md

Do I need to create my own config file? Where should it be relative to profanity.rb and what file type?

In case anyone else has this question in the future and stumbles upon this, I'll answer my own question. There's a .profanity.xml in your home directory. Someone helped me out on the help channel.
