View Full Version : Trading Cap On Non-Looted Treasure

On the wiki regarding the trading skill, it says:

To deter silver farming, there is a cap on the trading bonus to the first 1 million silvers of non-self-looted treasure. Any loot personally received from hunting doesn't count towards this cap. It is extremely difficult to reach this cap and thus applies to very few players.

So, if I am selling non-self-looted treasure, and have a skill of 220 and 11 influence bonus... adding those two and dividing by 12, I get a 19% bonus to stuff I sell. If the non-self-looted cap is 1 million, then I need to sell only 5.2 million worth of non-self-looted treasure before hitting that cap.

Assuming I'm interpreting the information above correctly, I have heard that this 1 million silvers cap resets weekly according to the lumnis schedule. Can someone verify if this is true?

Another question I have is whether the lumnis schedule resets even if I have not gotten enough exp to fully go through the exp bonus granted by the Gift of Lumnis.

Not sure if it's tied to Lumnis, but it resets weekly.

The cap is a base 1 million worth of gems and jewelry per week (no idea if it also applies to skins). Character A dark elf with no trading ranks can sell 1 million base worth of gems in the nations and will only get 750k silvers and hit the cap, if they sell in the Landing they hit the cap at 950k silvers. Character B an elf with 33% trading bonus will hit the cap at 1,330,000 silver You can have a backpack with 5m base worth of gems sell the lot and will take 5 weeks for it to reset. I'm not sure if that is how it was intended to work but that's how it currently works.

As far as I'm aware someone was looting 35m worth of gems a week and that's why it was implemented.

This had to have been before the Confluence got nerfed. But I'm 99% sure the trading nerf was post-Confluence-nerf.

It would still be possible in there today, but you'd need a fairly large MA army. Not for killing speed, but so that everyone's on a fresh start with the per character (might be per account for all I know) daily loot pressure reset in there.

Since Wyrom finally went and found that hidden code, have you asked him specifically about this character per day reset that you all have figured out? Maybe Coase buried the code for that somewhere else.

I never got any specific details or numbers on it other than something like "the more loot you find, the less likely you are to find more until eventually you're finding almost nothing," but that's pretty much how it works. And if you pick up loot from other places first, that still counts toward the Confluence drying up for the day on that character too. So you have to go farm that place out first if you want to get any loot out of there on that day, then move onto wherever.

After the places dries up on my wizard, my bard can go in there and have loot raining from the sky for a while, while my wizard continues to get nothing.

The only thing I'm not really sure about is it's tied to the entire account or just the character.

Is it based on who kills it or who LOOTs? If the latter I wonder if you can drag around a dead level 1 and have a cleric rezz just for the purposes of having it loot.

The only thing you can loot in the Confluence are earth elementals. Everything else drops their loot when they die and then disappears, and I'm way too lazy to test out something like that.

Wouldn't be that hard to test with a second high level character? You go in, hit the loot cap. Then group with someone, have them land some killing blows, then you land some killing blows, and see how it compares? Don't need a level 1 to test it, that sounds like a serious PITA.

I'm lazy. But if I think about it this evening I'll see if I can check it out since it's already farmed out today on my wizard.

Someone remind me on Discord later to do this. Methais#5420
