I have literally never heard of it (MAYBE I saw/heard someone use the term "Juneteenth" before but I never realized what it was) until Trump announced his next rally would be held on that day and it was deemed racist to hold political rallies on that day.

I've known what Juneteenth was for decades. Pretty big thing in Louisiana.

There's a lot of history that doesn't get taught in schools, but Juneteenth was covered in my primary school. Just barely. The mass hanging at the end of the Dakota war on the other hand, not a peep about it. In that case, the shame that it happened in Minnesota probably kept it out of the curriculum.
