That movie going to be the best movie of the third millenium.

I just want more movies like that, every month, every week.

So many craps, so few jewels...

I'm looking forward to it, but probably won't see it in theaters unless I get a date.

In other words, I won't be seeing it in theaters.

I'm looking forward to it ... the movie would be like 200x better though if alba was topless in the movie as often as nancy is in the comic.

Yeah. Heh. Miller is finally getting his due what with this and the new Batman movie. Robocop II was genuinely twisted, but not nearly shot as well as his illustrative work.

Dark Knight II, like all his stuff, was over the top. Man, I need to hit a comicbook shop.

I'm far more interested in the new Batman movie. This movie looks quite good, but you can't beat some good Batman.

Hope Bale won't blow it.

All of his movies weren't top notch.

Are you crazy? Christian Bale is fucking awesome. Equilibrium and American Psycho may have been the best damn movies ever made.

Go rent it now.

Had the potentiel to be one of the greatest movie ever made.

Had that girly freak Mattew mckonnnoway (or whatever you write his name).

Was a fiasco.

Post-apocalyptic movie about dragons ruling the earth and a bunch of survivors trying to stand up.

Talk about a good start.

I think I remember the premise of the movie, just not that Christian Bale was in it.

I own both and I thought Reign of Fire kicked much ass. Equilibrium... it had its cool moments.

After seeing the movie tonight I have to completely agree with this statement. Even though we didn't get to see her topless the carnage, dark imagery, brutal revenge, redemption, and good acting made for an entertaining slice of film noir.

It was a lot of fun. If you read the books I think you'll enjoy it a lot more than the casual movie goer though. The way they managed to make the books like literally into film from the imagery to the dialogue to the internal monologues was pretty awesome.

In comparaison with Pulp fiction?

Sean

What kind of comparison are you looking for? Sin City isn't Pulp Fiction. If your asking for my opinion on which is better right now I'd probably say I enjoyed Sin City more but Pulp Fiction was a better movie. Part of the thing with Sin City is they weren't able to do every story so they picked like 3-4 and it didn't allow for a total character development except for Marv or Hartigan, Dwight was rather enigmatic I'd think if you didn't read the books.

Well, hands down if the dancer is topless.

I saw Reign of Fire... and I enjoyed it. The movie was shit... but I enjoyed it.

The movie was nearly word for word, shot for shot what the books were, for the three stories they chose. As a collection, the comics are more indepth, but story for story, the movie was spot on.

For those interested, the stories were: The Hard Goodbye, The Big Fat Kill, That Yellow Bastard and The Customer is Always Right (sort of, not a main story)

i went into this movie, without much exposure to it's promotion..

basically, I didn't know anything about the graphic novels/comics nor much of the history behind anyone involved in this film. i barely noticed the trailer.

I was impressed with its style, for sure..... film noir has always been a favorite period in american cinema, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that style chosen for the film. I was also impressed with graphic and stylist use of some effects.

although I was very disturbed by the brutal imagery, I was intrigued by the stories.

Very gritty stuff.. anyway.. that's all.. I'll investigate this artists work now....

edited to add remark about Jessica Alba being pretty hot...

Ya. It turned the comics world on its head when it was originally published. Recently though, I think Frank Miller is totally over-rated.

My ass cheeks were hurting because of how long I was sitting in the movie theater watching this movie. I went into the theater not knowing what the movie was about and I left the theater not knowing what the movie was about.

Does your ass hurt after every movie? The run time is 2 hours and 6 minutes not that much longer than the average movie if I had to guess.

that's the thing, it was a variety of short stories/short films, all having seperate, but intertwining timeframe..... I am not sure if the original artist had any particular purpose of making this, other then expressing pure, human expression, very raw.
I'm still sorting some bits out for myself, but I'm not sure that there was any kind of 'moral' story, other then 'be just'

Well, the original stories were in seperate books. Like the Marv storyline (being the famous one), was what I first read. I didn't realize until later that the other characters existed, let alone in the same world.

Or in the same book. I love how the books all seem to intertwine and even share some panels and point things out you didn't notice to show that the storys sometimes occur at the exact same moment in time.

Wow, thats odd. When I first read Sin City, they were in novella form. I've still got Marv's book on my shelf.

I kept hyping up this movie to myself and I came out of the theater thinking it was "alright".

My favorite character in this movie was probably Kevin. Elijah Wood played him fuckin well.

I'd have to say though, I thought the hottest chick in there was Rosario Dawson. The thing she does with her mouth, holy shit, it was almost boner inducing.

I’m only bumping this thread because I dug out the Hard Boiled books.

So hardcore. Someone needs to make a movie out of them.
