Right now, Trump's re-election strategy is what they call a "Rose Garden" strategy. See Jimmy Carter circa 1980.
And Biden's current election strategy is what they call a "front porch" strategy. See William McKinley circa 1896.
Trump doesn't like a Rose Garden strategy, and Biden doesn't like a front porch strategy. They've been forced into it by the coronavirus. They've both tried to break out with technology, but their virtual events have mostly flopped.
If you were the campaign manager for Trump or Biden, how would you advise them to shake up the race with something novel and unexpected?
The Rise Up New York telethon -- such an outdate word -- was well done. Both candidates should study the technology and pacing of that even for something they could adopt.
