Look, don't do acid right before an interview. It's a bad idea.

Loxe is referencing an April Fools joke post on the officials yesterday. It was about a new ability called Introduce, where you would no longer see people's names in game unless they were on your friends list or they used the Introduce verb to introduce themselves. The way it was written it seemed well thought out, even for a joke.

I've played games where that was actually a thing. It's not nearly as fun or immersive as you might think.

Can anyone repost it here? I'm only seeing stuff about molemen and Kenny Rogers albums.

I remember a game by the name of Rauvyon, that I played two-ish decades ago now, that had this sort of thing implemented. At some point in time, I just started putting placeholder names in, so that I could remember who I've talked with, even if I didn't know their actual character name.

Definitely not immersive, but still an interesting concept if done properly. The 04/01 joke that GS had would've been annoying because of the name falling off the 'introduced' list after a certain amount of time, unless you BEFRIENDed or ENEMYed the person.

Someone would have just created an auto-introduce script or something anyways.

That’s certainly much better than the cringe fest Aulis posted:
